Where did I put them? (in Contests)

Hey folks I've lost my Elven Gloves [3] (+9) and Alatar's Gloves [0] (+8). I know they're in the house somewhere but I'm too busy to look for them so need some help. I really don't need them both so I'll make you a deal - if you can find them then you can keep one of the pairs all for yourself.

I'll check back on this thread frequently and give the person who replies directly after my post an answer which will allow the search to continue.

As soon as you park your car in my drive you see:

You open the garage door and immediately realise noone would put anything in here in this mess and actually expect to come back and find it. Nope they definitely won't be in here.

You take the pathway to the left and see the back door to the house. There are two plant pots, one to the left and one to the right of the back door. At the corner of the building you can see a wheelie bin.

You walk into the dining room. In front of you is a table and chairs, behind them is a wall unit (very nice looking too with lots of ornaments and pictures) with a closed drinks cabinet, and some cupboards. Behind you is the kitchen and to the righ is a doorway into the sitting/tv room.

Great contest, Beee! I didn't get the gloves but I'm loving my new pot plants, Xmas wrapping paper, half-chewed gum, and hair conditioner.

Yeah, maybe a bit of a lame finish. I had actually typed a reply that the gloves were in the safe and keep going until you get the answer. I have a few windows open on that thread to keep it edited etc and then I noticed the correct answer had been posted before I confirmed my reply. I felt a bit bad to be deleting a correct answer so I announced the winner.
Plus I'm tired and wanna go to bed - I figured you guys would hang me if I didn't give a winner from this timezone given your hard work and gave it to someone in 9 Hrs time after only one or two guesses.
