when i post i use plain text, because i like paragraph breaks and when i use html, no spell check, takes it away.
how do you have paragraph breaks with html(no spell check is what im after)
Use <br> wherever you want a break. Use two if you want a line break.

don't quite understand, would you please put an example?

<p>blah blah blah talk talk talk, lots of more talking </p>
<p>blah blah blah even more talk about things i don't want to know so early on the day</p>
gives this result:
blah blah blah talk talk talk, lots of more talking
blah blah blah even more talk about things i don't want to know so early on the day
note that you like the no spell check but should also check the words you spelled wrong and correct them for the reader's ease.
<br>
Typing here, like this, just for the sake of typing and adding breaks as appropriate would make this section look differently than another section. <br> In fact, to highlight the difference I shall have to go rather on & on, in what I'm told by some is referred to as "banging on", just to create an example. <br><br> This, of course, being where a paragraph would officially begin, as opposed to above, where a new line is begun regardless of the hanging end of the sentence.

See? The difference between one <br> and two is whether you just begin a new line or actually create a space THEN begin a new line.

ok thanks shade
i hope this works im using html now
This is, of course, a great deal of nonsense to go through when all you really need to do is learn to spell. ;)

i know but with the apostraphe's in don't and won't really ticks me off. i would spell pretty ok though with no spell check.
i dont know how to spell apostraphe. and im guessing i dont need to put the / at the begining of the last br?
One is paragraph, beginning and end <p> and </p>. The other is just inserting breaks <br>, as you please. Since I have a problem with begin <something> and end </something>, I try to use the ones that need not be opened and closed.
This is also why I prefer automatic and revolving doors to the standard variety.

ok so it doesn't really matter which one i use?

Bast has a tendancy to be hit by the door on her way though :P
Not to me.
If you plan on being an HTML wizard, then you probably ought to learn to use the proper commands where they belong. For posting purposes, I use <nospellcheck> & </nospellcheck>, <br>, and occasionally <b> & </b> for bold.

you still have to use both of them when you type up a big text, because the <p> is the command for paragraphes, and <br> is the command for a line break.

ok thanks a lot shade and bast :D dont think i will be posting long post :P

The <P> tag doesn't need to be closed. Reading the <P> indicated the paragraph break, not the </P>. Instead of using two <BR>'s for a new paragraph, Bast, you can just use a single <P>.
And Bast, I really thought you would crack when you read:
"the apostraphe's in don't and won't really ticks me off."
Flamey
February 16 2006 1:12 AM EST
:) why would bast crack?
and no one told me how to spell apostrophe, nevermind i got it now you need a 'o' not an 'a' :)
Oh, indeed, I'm having my own little meltdown right now. But see how I've completely avoided mention of the general lack of punctuation and capitalization? And how getting 'round the spellchecker is probably the least of the obvious concerns here? ;)

Ah, so you have cracked, Bast: you can restrain yourself in the face of those things.
Flamey, it's not so much your spelling that causes pain, but, as Bast said, your "general lack of punctuation and capitalization". Your thought that apostrophes are unnecessary... your intentional abuse/misuse of the <nospellcheck> tags... that you'd rather learn some HTML than learn to spell a word...
OK, I'll stop banging my head against the wall... in both the figurative and literal sense...

Please don't stop, Maelstrom. It is so refreshing to see someone different banging their head against the wall. I can't tell you how many times I've told myself, "Self... it would be great if Mael would bang his head against a wall." :D

OK, I won't stop, just for you. But I warn you, I will soon be banging my head against a pillow, as I'm heading to attempt to sleep. My lessened pain from that softer impact might not be as satisfying to you....

Ok I understand I will try and use correct punctuation, capitalization, grammar and spell don't and won't with apostrophes. if it would make Bast happy :D
but remember i do suport publik edjikashin
Excellent pluralization of the word "apostrophes"! Good job!
