"Beleg's Gloves now gives bonus to ranged damage (and only damage). No longer related to Archery skill"

Wasn't that already the case?

chappy [Soup Ream] March 4 2006 3:17 PM EST

Finally some sort of change :P

I like the BG buff ... that was needed ..

The base AC of the DB won't really do much as far as people wanting to use them or not, but I do like the increase on the other footwear :)

If the upgrade price decreased does that mean that the Blacksmith Prices and NW numbers decreased also??

[T]Vestax March 4 2006 3:20 PM EST

The items were upgraded automatically so the NW is relatively the same, but with a higher enchantment. And yes the next upgrade will be cheaper when you go to the blacksmith.

AdminJonathan March 4 2006 3:23 PM EST

"Wasn't that already the case?"

It seems that I've had a hard time deciding what BG should do. IIRC, at first they gave archery _and_ damage bonuses. It's possible that at some point they only gave damage bonus. But most recently they only gave Archery...

[T]Vestax March 4 2006 3:26 PM EST

Thanks for clearing that up.

Zacharia Andrew Pa!n March 4 2006 3:27 PM EST

Like the strength based bonus AC change that should be interesting.

AdminShade March 4 2006 3:52 PM EST

Nice changes, especially the ST based bug fix :)

[T]Vestax March 4 2006 3:58 PM EST

If ST does indeed grant base AC and not physical damage specific endurance, could we get our effective AC to appear in our battle stats?

Ox [StephenMelinda Gates Fund] March 4 2006 3:58 PM EST

Yay 2 more AC on my leather boots

YNM March 4 2006 4:15 PM EST

Jonathan has made YNM happy.

Phrede March 4 2006 4:54 PM EST

Great 18 off my total AC - thanks a million

Bolfen March 4 2006 5:05 PM EST

Elven boots raised from base 6 to base 10.

AdminJonathan March 4 2006 5:06 PM EST

vestax: no, because your effective AC depends on the minion attacking you :P

[T]Vestax March 4 2006 5:08 PM EST

Good Point.

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] March 4 2006 5:37 PM EST

I know at least at some point recently the bgs granted extra ranged damage, when did it swap back to arch?

[T]Vestax March 4 2006 5:45 PM EST

Jonathan, July 6 2005 4:05 PM EDT

"BG now grants extra damage during ranged combat to any weapon. (BG hasn't affected chance to fire for a while now, in case that's news to some people. As in, it never did during CB2.)"

That's the same post as the Archery Nerf, which is what I last remember and what I was basing my knowledge on. I can't find where it changed to added Archery and no damage boost as Jon says and no Changelog so far indicates this, but I'll just assume that it was while I was away. Still, no Changelog concerning the matter is a bit strange.

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] March 4 2006 6:06 PM EST

Can we get the ags + to not apply to AC? same for corn?

Mikel [Bring it] March 5 2006 3:14 AM EST

Well at least this time I got all of the money from my stuff like I was supposed to. I have nothing in rentals right now just cause it is change month. Last time when I had stuff in rentals I didn't.
Even though I was told that I would get my money. I never happened. I pay pretty darn good attention to my CM log and never saw it. So either it was given to the person that rented my item, or else it fell off the radar.

From the Jan 2006 change log on Shields:
"Jonathan, February 1 2006 9:09 AM EST
mikel: yes, money from rentals went to the real owner, not the renter"

I wonder if any of the other renters had this problem?

Mikel [Bring it] March 5 2006 2:35 PM EST

On a quick note after thinking about this for a bit.
Since Jon knows what he's going to change, he or an admin can go to rentals, rent the item that is going to get changed and see where the money goes. If the Renter gets it, then he's found the bug, if the actual owner gets it (which I'm doubting) then problem solved. It's a simple test. This also might explain why some items have different AC/NW's for the same +.

Maelstrom March 5 2006 3:22 PM EST

Mikel, my CMLs were rented out to someone for this change, and the money was sent to my own character. Looks to me like there's no problem...

Mikel [Bring it] March 5 2006 3:28 PM EST

Ok, I'll take your word for it. Last time when I had shields loaned out, I only got money from one of my two MgS's. And both of them were in the +30 range.

SNK3R March 5 2006 3:29 PM EST

Is there a possibility that Jon still has some monetary returns done internally? I recall in CB1 that there were two types of monetary returns: one where a person would get a chatmail displaying that (s)he's been refunded $x, and another type where the account was adjusted automatically without any notification.
