creating a tax income (in General)

UltimaSpock [Forge Frog Services] March 7 2006 9:57 AM EST

the wealthiest richest people can buy everything, and then they rent items, so they become even wealthier...

Do you think that a tax income could solve this problem?

AdminShade March 7 2006 11:32 AM EST

spend more time in the game, become wealthy also, problem solved.

this would only hurt the lower players even more imo.

UltimaSpock [Forge Frog Services] March 7 2006 11:36 AM EST

your answer is quite harsh shade.

i cannot play more than the top players, so i will never have more money than them.

QBBast [Hidden Agenda] March 7 2006 11:38 AM EST

"Healing" is our tax, I think. The bigger you are the more it costs you to "heal" (depending on how much HP you lose in a fight, I guess), even though it's not the big/old characters but the NUBs that earn the most money per fight.

What you want is more of a "property tax", 'Spock. Where those who have the most have to "pay more" to have it? But the addition of item power to effective PR and the weighting of those items is (supposed to be) the deterrent from overspending to own things, isn't it?

AdminShade March 7 2006 11:39 AM EST

My answer might be harsh in your eyes, but neither can a lot of other people, including yours truly, play CB as much as the top people.

They aren't top people for nothing, they do spend the most time on the game (without time no top MPR)

The issue you're going to have getting support for this idea Spock is with the concept that not everyone sees it as a "problem". It's good that you're thinking though :) No harm done with sharing your idea, as long as people are suggesting things with the intent of making CB a better place I'm sure people don't mind, regardless of whether they agree or not.

thanks dyno!

Ultima,

Firstly, is this a problem?

Secondly, what would you propose be the upper limit for wealth in the game, that is the spot where the tax starts? Because currently you are one of the top 50 richest players, in both money and NW, with many many players ranking below you. Would you like to pay tax on your 'wealth'?

UltimaSpock [Forge Frog Services] March 7 2006 12:02 PM EST

really? how did you discover this?

so i am not so bad lol!

i am french, and, as you know, French are used to have lots and lots of taxes of any kind.

since there is no tax in this game, i believed it was funny to introduce them ;-)

QBJohnnywas March 7 2006 12:18 PM EST

Lol, Ultima! Check out stats - characters - standings - richest, or networth.

It is possible to become 'rich', you just have to not spend your money! Or spend on items at a cheap price where you can and sell them on at a higher price if you can. Or buy Cb$ with USD. These are all tried and tested methods. And most of the richer players have put at least one of these into practice.

Or you could just ignore what other players have and become the richest player in the game - in your own mind! Works for me anyway - that 93k I have on my char is more than enough for the game I play. At least for the moment! ;)

There are taxes in this game -- stupidity tax being one of them...

CmdrHawkeye March 10 2006 9:31 AM EST

Heres an idea if you want to be rich like the rich people in this game spock do what they probably do. Abandon all hope of a life outside of carnageblender and play non-stop till your eyes begin to bleed then you shall become wealthy. (Or go insane whichever comes first.)

UltimaSpock [Forge Frog Services] March 10 2006 10:49 AM EST

;-)

but they need real money to buy cb money, so they must have a real job too

QBJohnnywas March 10 2006 10:53 AM EST

Don't tell our bosses but some people play at work......

UltimaSpock [Forge Frog Services] March 10 2006 11:04 AM EST

included myself!
