# Ablative Shield (in General)

## AdminNightStrikeMarch 15 2006 1:30 AM EST

The Wiki states that for 1 minion, this is cast at 48% on the single minion. For 2 minions, this is cast at 48% on both minions. I have one minion and a familiar, and I cast a level 9,000 AS for an effectiveness of 4510. This is 50.11111111111%

Why?

I just trained it to 10,000. It now casts for 5,010. Is there a +10 constant applied?

Also from the Wiki it is noted:

"Ablative Shield casts for 48% of its Spell Level, though at lower levels this could be up to 68% (34 HP gain with level 50 Ablative Shield = 68%)"

Does that help? You're simply still nearer the lower levels.

A good answer is that you need more data points :)

It will stabilize itself at 50%

Fixed the information which was faulty in the wiki / help.

Maybe I'm misreading, but it still doesn't make sense. I see the parts you changed, but I'm unclear as to the discrepencies between the top portion and the bottom portion. First, we have a penalty list of "0% for 2 minions, 20% penalty for 3 minions, 27.5% penalty for 4 minions, 32.5% penalty for 5 minions." Then, in the list portion, we have different penalties: 3 minions = 14% penalty, 4 minions = 23% penalty, etc. The only math I see that I can sort of work out is that 14% * 50% = 43%, but I fail to see where the 20% penalty listed first applies. Also, I haven't added another minion to test it out, as I can't afford it right now.

I forgot that I have a 5 minion team with AS trained that I stopped using. I just checked it: Ablative Shield: 29,487 (14,753), but it casts for 9967. 9967/29487 = 33.8%, 9967/14753 = 67.5%, and 14753/29487 = 50%.

Ok, so The 32.5% penalty listed in the first paragraph seems to apply to the reduction in casting from 14753 to 9967 (a 67.5% change). Granted, 100-67.5 = 32.5, however 14753 - (14753 * .325) = 9958, not 9967. Why?

The 36% penalty listed in the last bullet seems to apply nowhere. This is reversed from my 2-minion example, where the bullet (14%) seemed more accurate than the paragraph above (20%).

I think this section still needs work, but I have no idea what is correct.

9958 and 9967 is that 9 point really that important? i think its pretty accurate
