UC Weapon. 1H or 2H? (in General)

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] March 16 2006 4:06 AM EST

I don't think I've seen this mentioned anywhere...

Flamey March 16 2006 4:15 AM EST

do you mean what it is counted as?

Flamey March 16 2006 4:21 AM EST

if you mean if it is counted as a 1H or 2H weapons.

then i know that it is counted as 1H weapon just tested then.

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] March 16 2006 5:22 AM EST

How did you come by that conclusion? Hmm, maybe there's a way of testing it with Dex penalties from Shields. They differ for 1/2H weapons don't they?

Lumpy Koala March 16 2006 5:50 AM EST

UC is neither of them.

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] March 16 2006 5:52 AM EST

What's it's base Dex chance to hit based on then?

AdminShade March 16 2006 12:16 PM EST

UC is seen as a 1 handed weapon.

It doesn't get a DX penalty in melee rounds when having a shield equipped :)

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] March 16 2006 12:20 PM EST

It also gets the larger of the two bonuses from the BoM ( I had a BoM wearing UC char on cb1)

Karmic Mishap [Soup Ream] March 16 2006 12:21 PM EST

Wow, Sensei Boopadoo fends off all of those attacks single-handedly. That's some martial arts!

.... Why isn't 'fends' in the spellcheck?

QBJohnnywas March 16 2006 12:26 PM EST

I equipped a shield on my UC tank today and got a 6% dex penalty. Which is the 1H weapon shield penalty....

QBBarzooMonkey March 16 2006 12:26 PM EST

No, no, no! Shields and UC DO NOT MIX! Wooden, buckler, even a Mage Shield all knock it down from (100) to (94) :P

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] March 16 2006 12:32 PM EST

no one is suggesting it seriously BM, now that the MgS has a dex pen even it isn't work using on a UC char.

QBBarzooMonkey March 16 2006 1:41 PM EST

I saw It doesn't get a DX penalty in melee rounds when having a shield equipped and for a moment saw hope - a Mage Shield would protect a UC tank from magic attacks!
Then I moved Shamus Jon's MgS onto Sensei Boopadoo, saw the reduction in DX and (94) in the UC slot...

And I was so startled that I swallowed my gum! :)

AdminShade March 16 2006 1:45 PM EST

that's because every Shield gives UC a skill penalty, duh :p

Flamey March 17 2006 12:13 AM EST

as soon as i posted i got off.
yea i equipped a wooden shield -6% to DX i didnt know it lowered because the UC i used it on was 0

Grant March 17 2006 9:18 AM EST

I actually like a MgS on UC. If you wear HG and Gi, I think the -5 penalty is worth it.

QBBarzooMonkey March 17 2006 9:25 AM EST

Since yesterday, I've been toying with the idea of pushing it up even more just to compensate for adding a MgS after all... :)

Sukotto [lookingglas] March 17 2006 3:17 PM EST

And here we thought you would keep pushing it up just because you want to see how high you can get it.

Hey, if you get it high enough you might transform into a cleric and start giving HP your opponents like that one uber-ELB in cb1 did. :-)

QBBarzooMonkey March 17 2006 3:48 PM EST

Well, long term, yes as high as it can possibly go, until he's so fast opponents will end up striking themselves instead :D

But I was talking short term, as I was going to stop at (100) for a little while to emphasize DX & HP :)
