Official CB Photoshop contest (in Contests)

Overview --

1. A prize pool of 2 million CB will be supplied by my admin character with the following break down.

(1st) 1 million CB
(2nd) 500k CB
(3rd) 300k CB
(Best in Show) 200k.
-- Best in Show will be selected by the admins of CB.

2. Entering the contest is quite easy and quite easy to fail at doing if you do not follow simple directions.

-- Entries are to be emailed as an attachment in either JPG, GIF or PNG format to an email address that will be given at a later date. This means entries can not be submitted yet, giving everyone a chance to get their first drafts completed. The reason for this is, you get ONE entry. Once I have gotten your email that will be the only entry I accept for the contest.

3. Entries will be sent in with the following in the following format,
Subject - (Your Name Here) - Entry - imagename.
After the closing date, which will be given at a later date, I will host these images with assigned numbers. The community will vote their favorite number, this number will keep it anonymous! AND you will as well keep your entries anonymous. This keeps it from being a popularity contest.

3a. IF I find out that you cheated and told others what your number was in order to get votes from your friends I will take harsh actions against your account. So do not push me, or attempt to cheat everyone else out of the contest.

4. The subject of the FIRST photoshop contest will be
Carnage Blender defined without letters.

5. You may use a base image, but it must be altered from it's original content. Your imagination is key, I will ask the community to vote based on the depth of thought put into the image, rather than the quality of the image. On the same note, do not enter scribbles created in Paint.


Note: For those who do not own the overly prices photoshop software do not fret! Use gimp! Use Google to find gimp, follow the directions on gimp's site for installation and requirements.

Please post questions here, I will attempt to clear this up as we go along.

Sounds like an awesome contest! I am not really an artist of any sort, but this is tempting. I have just a few quick questions though.

First, how long is the time allowed to work on our image? I don't believe I saw any time-frame mentioned anywhere on how long this will last.

Second, I see it is called a "Photoshop Contest." Since we are allowed to use a base image, does this mean we could hand draw an image and scan it and use that as an entry? Or must this picture be created and edited through photoshop?

'Photoshop contest' is just a generic term given to pretty much any photo/picture/ect competition these days. You can create this image in any manner you wish.

No, no flash.

You can build it in SWF, but then convert it to a PNG ;)

any size limits? like something x something? or a reccomendation for the size?

i will try to compete, however i don't think it will be any good, but it's always worth the try isn't it !

The deadline is now set to 4/22/06 (or 22/04/06 for those confused types). Please read the first post in this thread to understand the simple, yet important, rules to the contest.

As of midnight CENTRAL STANDARD TIME (USA CST) entries will not be accepted.

I will then take those entries and do what I said above, and it might take me a few days ;)
