About Dual Wield and Healing ideas (in General)

Originally, I liked the idea of dual wielding in some sort. More attacks per round, but less damage.

But, BL does exactly the same thing.

Consider BL when it doubled the damage you did. That is in essence doubling the attacks you perform.

So what benefit could dual weilding as a skill provide, over training BL? Weapons don't give individual benefits, besides their damage capacities, so unless you have two equal stat weapons, using a second will always be detrimental.

How about the damage the DW skill would provide? If it provides les than double dmage, what point would there be to not just training BL instead? If it provides more, why train BL? Hit ratio? As no wepaon as yet has any sort of 'on hit' properties, then even if DW did potentially more damage but you would have to hit more often to do so, on average, it would still have to provide the same sort of damage bonus as BL, otherwise one would be redundant when considering the other. If that's the case,t hen the skills are doing the same thing, and having both is redundant.

What benefit could DW provide than BL doesn't already?

On to healing.

Without any sort of mana, energy, or other stat that can be converted to HPs, healing is redundant. If you had a skill that could heal 100 hps per battle, the same effect is achieved by training an additional 100 HP. Or raising your defense (probably through protection) to stop 100 HPs of damage that battle.

Why have a healing spell, when you can have AS, which in essence gives pre emptive healing?

Just some thoughts. :)

dual wield would be overpowered no matter how you'd put it, unless:

- both weapons would have a 50% damage penalty
- you wouldn't gain extra attacks.

That, and healing would prolong the battles even further. Who wants more than 25 rounds of combat? *bleh*

Not to mention that DW would require that you split up the PR/NW allowance between two weapons instead of having one monster weapon (or 3/2 if you use a bow). My comments on Heal is VA. But it would be nice if there was a spell that would help mages regain a little HP during battles to help compensate for AMF damage. It would have to be carefully implemented else it could make mages to powerful again...

Regarding healing, no discussion is necessary - it's in the FORS:

Q: CB needs a healing spell!

A: This adds nothing to the game that simply training HP (or AS, or protection, or endurance...) doesn't.

What if someone dual wielded a VB along with either a BoTH, a MH, or a BoNE. The fact that the person had enough moolah to buy the two weapons would make him/her overpowered with a weapon that reduces armor by half, then adding some other element such as the life drain, or a x92.

I doubt the game would allow you to dual wield with two handed weapons...

And I'd also assume that as the individual weapon stats would be used for x and +, the special properties would also only apply to each weapon. So no ELS hitting with a VB 1/2 armour.

When you have two tanks and one strikes with a VB and the second with a MH, does the MH get VB armor reduction? No.

A shame it doesn't. BoNE following VB would be spectacular. ^_^
