Jonathan's Character Central Bank?? (in General)

BlueWolf May 2 2006 4:11 PM EDT

If you can get banned for having a bot in the game........
why hasn't Jonathan gotten in trouble????

Jonathan's character, Central Bank, is a bot, so why can HE have a bot, but not get in trouble. I think he should have to follow his own rules.

Maelstrom May 2 2006 4:12 PM EDT

you just lost an auction to Central Bank, didn't you? :P

deifeln May 2 2006 4:12 PM EDT

This is coming from your clanmate.

You are an idiot.

BlueWolf May 2 2006 4:13 PM EDT

i know, but i just felt it was a little unfair, not taht i know how to use them, but still....

QBRanger May 2 2006 4:18 PM EDT

Have you not learned yet that Jon can do anything he wants with respect to Carnage Blender?

The rules of the game do not fully apply to him as it is his and his alone.

If you think that "since Jon does it, I can do it", you are completely mistaken and rather short sighted.

It has always been this way in the past and always will be this way in the future.

DD34isback(justkidding) [Severswoed Accounting] May 2 2006 4:19 PM EDT

:) + if you don't even understand how to run a bot you shouldn't even be worried about someone who can learn how to spell weird first :)

bartjan May 2 2006 4:20 PM EDT

You lost because you did not bid enough. Central Bank has absolutely nothing to do with your bid.

AdminQBVerifex May 2 2006 4:24 PM EDT

You guys really don't "get it"™ do you?

Central Bank is there to make sure our economy doesn't crash, it is the basic equivalent of Mr Greenspan (or whoever that new guy is).

Keep in mind, Central Bank isn't "creating money" to buy things from auctions. The money is simply being redistributed. So you should all be thanking Jon for having this. Although, yes it can be quite annoying. :)

BlueWolf May 2 2006 5:06 PM EDT

well, i just think it's stupid, it's his rules, but he doesn't have to follow them????

Nightmare [NewNightmares] May 2 2006 5:12 PM EDT

Don't be dumb. With any game where people are in control, the rules are in place to stop cheating and make it a place where everyone can have fun. I don't see Jonathan using Central Bank's bot to benefit. Its bot doesn't fight for him, or forge. The items the Bank wins never get used. All it does is regulate the economy.

superbeast May 2 2006 5:14 PM EDT

that is kinda BOGUS. he is still using it to get the good stuff if he wants something rare he keeps the bot bidding until it wins so that is a form of cheating right?

Karn May 2 2006 5:15 PM EDT

Actually it only bids once so if you truly want an item just wait for him to bid on it and then re-bid.

BlueWolf May 2 2006 5:18 PM EDT

but sometimes he bids so high on things that people really can't bid on it anymore. And some people (no names) are getting so frusterated taht they are outbidding him just so he doesn't get the item. and yeah, he takes the item, and we never see it again. taht is kinda unfair in my opinion. Someone might have really needed it, he takes it, now the person can't get it.

Karn May 2 2006 5:20 PM EDT

From what I have seen he only bids to the next increment up, so it is not usually much of a difference.

BlueWolf May 2 2006 5:22 PM EDT

no, because i remember putting a BoTH in auctions for 200k, he bid 1mil on it, and only one person was able to outbid him. everyone else said it was too expensive. the incriment was only 1k

Karn May 2 2006 5:27 PM EDT

He only bided 600k on it and then Johnnywas bought it for 1 mil.

BlueWolf May 2 2006 5:28 PM EDT

oh, w/e, point is, he still doesn't bid just one increment up, and it still makes me mad.

bartjan May 2 2006 5:33 PM EDT

superbeast: Central Bank does not bid on those items to keep them...

QBBast [Hidden Agenda] May 2 2006 5:35 PM EDT

Bart, I already tried. It's hopeless.

DD34isback(justkidding) [Severswoed Accounting] May 2 2006 5:54 PM EDT

deifeln May 2 2006 6:07 PM EDT

BlueWolf...please stop posting.

/me wishes he could forum ban.

Hakai [Aye Phelta Thi] May 2 2006 6:08 PM EDT

y'know...every time I turn around, it seems Bluewolf is complaining about something...so does anyone else wonder why he's still here? Just my 2 cents...

DD34isback(justkidding) [Severswoed Accounting] May 2 2006 6:08 PM EDT

be nice deifel he has a right to voice his opinion

deifeln May 2 2006 6:10 PM EDT

DD,

Deifel also has the right to voice his opinion.

Thanks.

Nightmare [NewNightmares] May 2 2006 6:21 PM EDT

BlueWolf, the Bank only bids once, and only one increment. I went through all the BTh auctions, from the very first one on the expired auction list, and didn't find one instance of Central Bank bidding more than a single increment higher. (See here, here, here, here, here, here, and here. This was the only unusual looking one out of the bunch, but the increment may have been larger, and nevermind that the Bank didn't win in the auction.)

So, please. If you think Jonathan is using the economy regulating bot to benefit himself.. show us some real proof or just let this thread fade away.

SuperSlick May 2 2006 6:57 PM EDT

Verifax, Bernanke is the new Chair of the Fed. But I have to add an extra sentence to this because spell check doesn't approve my use of names as they are technically misspellings.

[T]Vestax May 3 2006 12:41 AM EDT

This is coming from your other clanmate.

You are an idiot.

Don't worry, we still like you.

[T]Vestax May 3 2006 1:18 AM EDT

And superslick, the spellchecker does indeed recognize player names. In fact it will even recognize the beginning parts of a people's names, like 'Verif', and 'Verife'. What it doesn't recognize is you misspelling Verifex's name.

Also note that padding your post with extra words is not an acceptable way of getting past the spell checker. And when I mean not acceptable, I mean you should consider this to be your warning.
