Odd fight sequence -- missing familiar (in General)

Does anyone else find this odd?

My familiar's stats aren't listed at the top. I've been fighting for a while, and this is the first time I noticed it. I've seen the stats earlier in the day, so I'm not too keen on why they'd be hidden for this one fight. Update: It seems to be only when I win against certain people. Could it be related to Phantom Link? I just added that as a skill.

Have you tried unequipping the ToE and re-equipping it again?

AdminNightStrike May 14 2006 12:42 PM EDT

I'm not using a ToE. It's a FF. Why would that have an effect anyway?

AdminShade May 14 2006 12:49 PM EDT

I meant the FF, silly of me.

Well it could reset the status of the familiar perhaps, and make it appear every time again. In the fight you shown us, your familiar doesn't get used, so appears to not be equipped...

AdminNightStrike May 14 2006 5:32 PM EDT

It does get used... in the first ranged round, it delivers damage and receives damage.

I tried your suggestion. It still happens... it seems to be the most easily reproduced when fighting the same person twice in a row, for instance after a stalemate.

I have a Jig and if the fight doesn't go to melee, which is only where it fights, then it's stats do not show.

The real question is: If a familiar claps one hand in the forest and noone is around to hear it, did that familar even exist in the first place??? :P

AdminNightStrike May 15 2006 1:25 AM EDT

A FF fires from the first round.

AdminShade May 15 2006 11:51 AM EDT

Indeed your FF does get used, but doesn't get listed in the post battle stats...

strange... >.<

Can you pass something towards Jon?

AdminShade May 16 2006 12:53 AM EDT

not more than you can... :)

That same thing happens to me all the time. It happens when I fight very rapidly. I figured that my FF had died in the last battle and that perhaps it takes a few seconds to heal. It definitely sucks, but I never thought to bring it up. Has this happened to anyone else?

Gallatin [Thanoscopter And You] May 16 2006 7:50 AM EDT

Not me, but maybe the stats don't need to be shown because the familiar took no damage.

Just a possibility.
