if her brother no longer uses the account then Sandy is the only person using the account. Why should she have to create another account?

two people cannot play one account, period.

a person can give all the chars items and money on one account to another,
how hard would it have been for them to follow the rules.

Besides at this point you should be thankful for the opportunity to take advantage of the NUB and your brothers kindness. Well at least you would have had you or your brother followed the rules. Have fun being reset/banned whatever fate the admins pick.

shared isn't the issue, at issue is two people playing one account. It's my understanding that it is completely forbidden. Regardless of him not playing any more. Otherwise I'm going to be seriously considering a flame war of epic proportions.

I'm not a rules warrior or anything, but these kind of rules cannot be applied in one case, and not in another.

She had already multied, accidentally or not. Admins should dole out a proportional punishment. Her brothers account should likely be reset, and her new account (should she be allowed to have one) would likely still have the normal boni for starting a new account.

If she would have started a new account (which her brother should have told her to do) then she would have had a longer NUB duration.

she has worked hard, I think, for her current main character and wouldn't like to lose it.

Why not let her talk with a full admin (like G_Beee) and deal with the issue instead of crying wolf to the entire community over an accidental incident.

of course there are rules and they are in place to apply to 1% of the people out there who break them knowingly. In every community where rules are in place and enforced there are also exceptions - countries are not operated on black and white basis nor are institutions, businesses, or even online games.

It has been suggested I keep my emotions out of this very simple misunderstanding. I'm sorry for being a big meany. I understand that
rules only apply when it's determined that it's needed, however needed isn't always seen the same by everyone.

I dont know much about ip's but these are really similar.

again, i dont know much but i entered the ip's of sandy, darkfiedragon, arthurpendragon and they have the same isp.

the ip thing, they have to be exactly the same, i got 2 computers and the only thing different in the ip is the last two numbers, so you can't go accusing people because they have a similar ip.

I'm pretty sure ISP means Internet Service Provider. so they could be just changing their IP ( I heard some people can change it when they want to. )

Shade, my problem with this is that Sandy has benefitted from the amount of time and effort her brother put into the account. Does it make a difference what length of time that was for, or how much MPR/Cash was made in it?

So lemme get this straight... if i help someone in my family like my cousin learn how to play this game by showing him how to fight and build a strategy/etc and im helping him on his account for a day i will be banned?? for helping someone get started?

My understanding of what defines a multi has always been the following:

one person many accounts
many people one account.


I'm not sure if I'm correct or not on that view but all the bannings I have seen correspond with that view.

I believe one of the changes from CB1 to CB2 was that only one person is allowed to play an account now.

If "many" = "more than one", JW. No more power duos using all their BA with the combined force of differing timezones/shared BA. This should also apply to "here, run my account for me, I've got you all set up". Two people, one account.

As for "helping someone learn the game for a day", that is entirely different than someone not having to put any time in and starting with a team, MPR and cash. If they are "learning", they are putting the time in, yes?

You don't need to play for someone to show them the game...

this game has really fallen off the deep end if this is a big issue. the way i see it her brother MADE the account. nowhere in there does it prove he ever spent a BA. if Admins go around resetting people off of what can't be proven then your all in trouble.

To play the devil's advocate...

Sandy didn't start the account, so she didn't read the warning that players aren't permitted to share/give away accounts.

Also, Sandy's character is only 100k MPR. That about a week's worth of fighting, with the current NUB rate. Not a big deal, really, especially since (if Sandy took over when the name was changed to "Sandy") she has only been playing the account for a few weeks.

Of course, this thread is about the principle of sharing accounts, not a specific problem with Sandy...

Since the start of CB2 the todd-spydah 'sharing' of an account isn't allowed anymore.

However sandy 'took over' the account of her brother. He could have sold his account to any other human being that was unknown with Carnage Blender and wanted to take a try at it.

These are 2 different things imo:
sharing = 2 or more player playing 1 account
sandy = playing after her brother has quit


@ GL: no claire may not 'take over' your account for a short period of time and then due to lack of interest give it back to you, that would be sharing.

Sandy isn't giving back the account, and if she would, the account should be banned.

Admins can see that your wife is playing when she does things differently than you are, I won't tell details but you can get the idea if i mention bot checks are among those things.





For me this is all turning into a huge witch hunt, and I don't like them even if they are justified.

But:

I have checked the 2 IP addresses of Sandy and Arthurpendragon and they are very similar, which could be on a network or an ISP that gives out randomized IP addresses.

The transfers of Sandy to pretty much anyone from the date of April 22th are very suspicious, especially those to Arthur and a third account on the IP range being darkfiredragon.

This makes 3 accounts on 'similar' IP addresses sharing items and money which would be highly suspicious.

Also all 3 email addresses are from Yahoo.com, which is another similarity.

All 3 accounts are played form the same timezone, and in fact:

Last login at 8:51 AM EDT.
Last login at 9:51 AM EDT.
Last login at 12:16 AM EDT.

very close together and 2 of those accounts have fought at similar times.

I am closing this thread down to reduce the flooding and flaming but will contact full admins to investigate further to see things beyond my sub admin capabilities.

I'm aware (and have been for some time) of "issues" with Sandy's user account. I discussed those issues with Sandy before this thread was started and helped with email and access problems.
Some of the transactions (even although they are relatively small) look suspect from this account, however I don't believe that they in themselves are enough to confirm multi activity. I say this based on my discussions with Sandy prior to, and since this post was created, along with some other pieces of evidence gathered.

Sandy has (by admission) received help from a sibling to set up the account although maintains that no BA has been used by anyone else. Given that the account is still relatively new I've decided that no action will be taken for this.
For the record, reset/banning is always considered on a case by case basis, taking into consideration the specific situation. This_does_not_mean we are inconsistent with our decisions, just that we are flexible.

Regarding all the other chat about who can do what with someone else's account.
You can get as much help in the form of coaching from anyone you want. Discuss strategy with your mom if you feel it's going to make your team better. I helped my wife a great deal when she started. I gave her the lead on her SFBM strat, explaining terms used, helping her set up a training pattern, how to post on forums, use CM's and make transactions. That's all fine and above board.
I did_not_and will not touch the mouse though. As soon as anyone else clicks that button then you are technically cheating and opening yourself to criticism and punitive action on the discretion of the community/admins.

Keep that in mind - click the button for someone else, or have someone else click the button and it's against the rules. Simple as that folks...

As for GL, don't be silly. Of course we'll know if Claire were to take over your account. We'd see an immediate improvement in tactics and strategy and it would be obvious something "illegal" was happening.

Well u can see clearly, I was doing transations with him in real life. I was selling him nx cash for some cb money. I mean all I have accumulated from him is about 300k which is what i make around in a day.
And the other weird transactions i don't have any explanations for. I guess he wanted to give me money?
