An addition to the WIKI? (in General)

Could we have an addition to the WIKI for items that pointed to the finished auctions for that item?

I second this, it would be useful to some.

for checking finished auctions, to show how much the thing sells for??

Someone pointed out that this functionality is available through the auctions page, so it is out there. But I think it still makes sense to have such a link on the WIKI.

Why not just add the information to reach it?

just put a hyperlink into the wiki. it would be difficult for me to get it, seeing as my http:// address never changes, just stays at http://www.carnageblender/main.tcl, but someone who has that change a lot could be able to do it really easy. I dunno, someone from the community could do it, or we could bug Jonathan until he did it.

Or if Jonathan gave me the say so, i would do it myself.

I do have to say something about it, however ;)
Please, do not use links such as 'www.carnageblender.com' in the Wiki, as they only work for those that access the game by that URL. Other's access it by cb2.carnageblender.com , carnageblender.com or the IP.
As far as I know, the Wiki has no proper way of doing relative URLs, so I would really like that added to the Wiki code first, before lots of links like this are made.

Those links are exactly what I meant with 'not relative links'. If I were to click 'Carnage Blender' on top of each of those pages, CB would ask me if I was sure I wanted to log out...

I made it a long time ago. I'm sure there is a need to address the implementation of relative linking. In fact, knowing the problem exists makes we want to push for such a fix as well. My point before was that the page already exists. That and nothing more.

I'd also like to say that you shouldn't discourage people from making new pages listing helpful information just because the linking isn't perfect. A page is better then no page (in most cases). It is a wiki after all, which not only means that a person can make a page by themselves, but it also means that a page is allowed to evolve and be perfected over time.

My page may not be perfect but a lack of perfection is no reason to deny the limited utility of my page.

My point is that you could just have two links in each page..... It's not that hard..... If Jonathan thought this was a good idea (i just want to check with him first) I could go out of my way to fill this "need".

so before i start hacking away at the Wiki, is there more than just cb2.carnageblender.com and carnageblender.com? If there's more than those two ways, let me know so i can get those put in.

Something tells me you should just be patient about it at the moment. No need to add 4 links to ever item on the list just yet.

Well, i have nothing else to do really, get rid of my debts, but then i have nothing to do really. And i could keep myself busy by doing that. And i always have time for that. :P

well, no one has said anything about it, so i'm going to go ahead and start making the links as soon as i get on a computer that gives me the right links. If you guys know how to use the IP address in the hyperlink, let me know. :P

Relative links sort of already work in the wiki. Just chop off the http://www.cb.com/ part and it'll relatively link properly.
