Can we change the bot-check (in General)

1st- Get rid of the cursive some of it can be hard to read.
2nd- For some reason my computer wont load the bot-check
3rd- I hae spent way to much because of failed checks.

The real big reason is number 2

Please, I beg you, don't ask this, because past experiences have shown whenever Jon has changed the bot checks. He has made them more difficult to read, not easier.

alright I dont want him to change how hard they are I just a more proficient way to load them.

1st- I agree, some of it is too hard to read and confusing (actually, a very small amount of them are), but that's why you get 2 chances.
2nd- Maybe you need another browser? Are you using IE? IE has a nice habit of not loading things that need to be loaded... like the sidebar, haha.
3rd- Sorry to hear that... I'm sure if you can actually get the darn thing to load, you'll fail a lot less =D

Change bot-check? No, its fine the way it is and does what it was meant to do.

Anyway, why make the bot checks easier? I can fill them in without even paying attention to them, I even make contests with them.

Why dont we have a bot check that gets you to guess a number between 1 and 1000 and if you get it wrong you spend 1 week not being able to breathe. :)

One possible way to improve the bot-checks is to allow the second chance when your timer expires. All the botcheck failures resulting in suspended fighting that I've experienced have been because a page was taking a long time to load and timed out (this happens a lot for me). When I reconnect, my fighting has been suspended.

There is a 2 minute time allowed to enter the bot-check. If it takes more than 2 minutes to load these pages I would really hate to try to burn through BA at 2 minutes a shot. Cut that in half and a new character could only break even with BA regen!

Seriously though the few delays in loading from firefox can be bypassed by a little tap on the back browser/forward browser buttons.

I have a complaint (or two):

There is definately too much man-love in this community.

It is officially getting to an unhealthy level, and I will not stand for it anymore. I as an admin will be forced to abuse my powers if this continues by forum banning anyone who attempts to spread man-love in forums. Chat however is not under my jurisdiction and frankly I don't care for it much so it will not be enforced there. However I will hand all chat authority over to my side-kick Bast (that's right you heard correctly "side kick!") to do as she will with you man-love chat people.

Finally, I am tired of being treated as a sex-object by some of you. You know who you are, Sutekh, SNK3R etc. This is discriminatory and I will not be labelled anymore as the CB pin-up boy. Eyes always staring, fingers always pinching....well quite frankly my behind is sore and all pinched out.

Ok getting back on subject of the Post's Title...

I have a small problem with the bot checks also. I have noticed that I continuously received "2 strikes your out" after my first bot check. After receiving at least 1 - 2 of these a day I began to try to figure out why in the world I was getting these. I am pretty sure I have narrowed it down to the main cause and it is mainly my fault but I am sure people who experience frequent slow times with cb have the same problem.

1. I receive a bot check, this particular one is either impossible to read or I just go brain dead, and when I type it in wrong I hit the enter but instead of hitting enter once I end up accidentally hitting it twice. Then boom "2 Strikes Your Out" and this is only after seeing 1 bot check.

2. Again I receive a bot check that I either go brain dead or it is impossible to read and after I type it in wrong I press enter, after waiting at least 15 - 30 seconds I think I haven't hit enter yet so I hit it again. Then boom "2 Strikes Your Out" and this is only after seeing 1 bot check.

I know this is mainly all my fault but it would be helpful if anything in the code could be changed to fix this expensive boo boo.

Oh yeah and my brain goes dead too many occasions during bot checks I think I have see so many that I am going a little insane.

DAWG, I don't think hitting the enter is your problem. It looks to me as if you're hitting the "C" key out of habit. Here's the last 5 failed checks as an example of why you're failing.

Really I have no clue how people have problems hitting enter too many times and passing the bot checks. I, on the other hand, can hit enter as many times as I want and all it says is I haven't entered a three or four letter word. I love my Mozilla FireFox Browser.

its not that i hit enter to mch its that it doesnt load sometimes.

Maybe this time would be better spent by the people complaining about bot checks by going over the trial bot checks over and over as to stop bothering normal people with the advanced ability to read :). j/k by the way hehehe

Thanks G you proved my point with this one I couldn't explain my self completely but you helped with this last 5 failed bot checks detail.

Yes my main cause for failed bot checks is because allot of times I sit at the pc and just hit c enter c enter and I sometimes do this without looking and sometimes I do it when I am talking bot somebody else. So yeah I know my mistake there.

But I pulled 2 of the detail bot checks that G put on the post to prove my point. If you see the "1st" labeled bot check was the word bale I typed in bal and hit enter then in a matter of milliseconds I realized I left of the e so then I put the e on it and pressed enter. As you can see the correct spelling of the first bot check registered as the 2nd bot checks answer but I never saw the second bot check.

It's not an issue. If you hit enter, consider your entry submitted. Don't try to fix your mistake when you hit enter, just wait for the next botcheck to appear. ;)

Alright it seems that the bot-check is written in html as a image and it also seems that my computer wont let me load images like this could someone help me out with this.

I've been getting several bot checks a day... most of the times I get several on a roll...
I agree its really hard to read sometimes... really...
And for some reason even when i get the words right, i get kicked out and have to wait 60 min.... really annoying...
