For example:
My two favorite teams are Australia and Ecuador.

Ecuador:
Watertight defence! Brilliant passes! Beat Brazil and Argentina in qualifying. Great attacking side! Team plays at high altitude (i.e., they have bigger lungs). They never seem to run out of breath! xD Just beautiful to watch! =))

Australia:
Awsome team! Have many players that are playing in European clubs. Guus Hiddink is coaching them (took Netherlands and South Korea to the semi finals). They beat Japan! What an awsome game was that!? xD

Well, the Trinidad & Tobago is my favorite team because, well, they suck! (My grandma came from T&T)

Seriously. Argentina would have to be my favorite team. Yes they're a very powerful team just like Brazil, but there's one difference: selfishness. Sure we all know that all these guys are unbelievably good, but, although they are fairly close geographically, their games are much apart. The Argentinians share the ball and work fluidly as a team much better than the Brazilians, which is why it took them so long to score vs. Australia. Argentina has shown good teamwork, jumping all over the opponents in their group, with a quick 2 goal lead on Ivory Coast and a 6-0 blowout of Serbia & Montenegro. Teamwork is the key to winning in this sport, especially with the amount of training involved today (because it's so hard for one player to be drastically better than another at this level). Go Argentina!!!

It would be hard to choose my favorite team of cups in the world, and I certainly wouldn't get too feverish about it. However, I'd have to say that this is a pretty nice looking cup:

South Korea cause they are the only successful asian team in the 2006 World Cup and pretty much the most successful asian team ever.

Definately the Brazillian team because they have the hottest female fans.

My favorite team is of course the Dutch team! Orange all the way! They might have a chance of winning the cup, but we'll just have to wait and see, right? At least it's a very good team. It's solely made out of internationals and has got some of the young players in it who have won the World Cup for under the age of 21. As a team, they're quite aggressive and will be pushing for a goal most of the time... so yeah, I have faith in our team. We're already in the 1/8th matches, because we have won two times. The third match (next wednesday) is going to be against Argentina, a great team as well, and we can afford to lose now. We'll probably meet Argentina again, somewhere later on in the cup.

The main reason they'll win is because they've got a legion of supporters behind them that will follow them everywhere! Like 60.000 Dutch people crossed the border to Germany, all dressed in Orange outfits and driving around with orange cars, caravans, you name it! In the Netherlands itself you can find orange decorations in every street, TV sales are going through the roof... we'll win the cup, and the entire nation believes in it.

I'm from there, the fans are diehard haven't made it since 1974, they are playing tremendous, Guus hidink. the spirit here is amazing which is great. great team all round

Home advantage coupled with a ruthless and efficient approach, Germany for the cup...

It's really tough not to love Brazil. Why? You watch so many teams play and they are SO serious, they throw tantrums at everything, and the blame game supercedes the match.

Brazil however, they're incredible, their goalie is amazing, and they all seem to actually ENJOY playing. You see them smiling and laughing in matches. That's infectious and the reason they should win. The love of the game over the love of the win.

I'm supposed to root for the U.S. since I live there, right? Well, I can't.

I watched Ghana play against the Czechs and I fell in love. They just played with such passion. Such drive. And it carried them to a convincing 2-0 victory. Who'd have thought Ghana would even had a chance to make it to the second round in a division that was supposed to be one of the two hardest?

My favorite team is England - but they have less than no hope now.
I still fancy Germany to do well but my tip would be Spain.

I'm gunna say France, because I used to live in France and played soccer there, and got thoroughly stomped. France is probably one of the countries that is most into soccer, similar to how a large portion of the South equates football to life. If you go to France, you'd almost think that soccer is the only sport there is. So I'm rooting for France, because they did great in '98 and I think they'll be great again this year.
