Can't complete tutorial (in General)

quicksilver [/me Forge Stuff :D] June 22 2006 1:54 AM EDT

I keep getting an error:

Assignments failed

The database rejected the transaction.

The tutorial won't progress past this point (although I can still click on other links and do stuff at random, although I don't really know what I am doing.) I am not double clicking anything, it returns this error every time I try to assign items.

which item(s) do you try to assign where?

Any items. In the tutorial, it has you purchase a weapon ( I bought a rapier) and it won't let me put it on my character, I'm stuck with the original whip.

Have you tried clearing your cache settings? Possibly you already have it equiped, or are unable because of a cached page.

change coming on?
It sounds like he's getting an error from the backend, which would indicate that it's likely not on his on in my stupid uninformed opinion.

I had this problem too actually when rejoining. Can't remember how i got around it though. I played CB1 before a long time ago, and came back after a long time... sigh

At cache flush, Capric was unceremoniously dumped into New Players. He still has no ability to equip/unequip and gets a message that says "most likely you double-clicked on the Assign link". I don't know that this information is any more helpful than that previously mentioned.

What browser are you using? The last time someone had this problem, they weren't using Internet Explorer or Firefox.

worked fine for me when I logged in as Capric

It seems that was the issue (I use Opera). Since Opera 9 came out Tuesday, I tried switching to that, and it seems to work fine.
