Can someone explain to me why people with scores of 2 million and an MPR of 1.5M are farming me with my MPR of 500k simply for clan points? Are their characters that bad that they have to fight massively down instead of up?

Not quite, they have to fight lower to be able to score clan points. Too many people are NCBing. :)
Your score is close enough to 1.5 mil that you should be giving normal rewards to those folks (assuming they aren't too much above 1.5 mil pr)
I understand that, novice, but I'm coming more from the standpoint that if they have to fight someone one-third their MPR to win... that's pretty embarrassing.

You are in the top 70 of scores, rewards are not based on MPR so nobody probably even looks to see what your MPR is.
I would guess close to 25 are non clan members.
As many as 5 clan mates to not fight.
So only 40 to chose from and half of those are within 50k of your score.
I doubt its personal, you just do to well for your MPR ;)
