The Big Weapons - who do you love? (in General)

Ok, the big weapons.... specifically Morg, ELS, BoNE and BoTh. I've noticed in auctions lately ELS and BoNE go in and nobody buys them...and if they do there are only usually a couple of bidders.

Now I now why you should love the Morg, but why not a BoNE? After all it's just a Loch with a different name isn't it? And that was THE weapon to have once upon a time...

Weapons users..state your preferences. If you've used all I'd like to hear your opinions. Pros and cons. What you needed to do to get the best results....

I like my ELS.
Its the most damage i can do with a one-handed sword. It gets a better bonus with my BoM than a Morg or BoNE would. And I'm pretty much to lazy and poor to buy a good Morg.

Weapon choice change as you go up in ranking.In the lower end to upper mid range MH is the weapon to use.When you reach the Top 10 single handed weapon come very useful.

I think the BoNE will catch love with the way PL is getting used.

Non reducable VA. MH trumps BoNE hands down! ;)

Have we all forgotten about the VB for cutting through those with massive amounts of AC (most of the upper tanks)? See TAB for an example of a VB in use and I'm sure he'd be doing a lot better if Pit could just afford the right gear.

someone switched from a Morg to VB to beat me...

VB owns tanks and walls. Not near as good for mages or enchanters. Not great at high levels because it's forging and blacksmith costs are far, far higher then the 4 big ones. If VB has the same forge costs it would be the best though, for all stages of the game.

I'm currently using a VB (mostly because I'm poor)

On cb1 my choice was always BoTh and it probably still will be higher up

IMO,

The best weapon is the MH.

Reasons:

1) Inate VA ability, works vs DM characters.

2) Very high base damage, second only to a BoNE.

3) Cheapest upgrade costs. One needs to look beyond the early/mid stages of the game to the later parts of the game. Once you get over 1.5M MPR, the upgrade costs of the VB make it too expensive to upgrade enough to keep up with the mages linear damage increase and the other top 4 weapon upgrades.

4) The name is just so cool.

The reason the Loch/BoNE was the weapon of choice in CB1 was the lack of the DM spell. Now, with the DM spell, the inate 20% leech of the MH makes it a far better weapon than the BoNE.

Also like to remark that the VB isn't any more expensive until you hit the real, real high levels. Just thought I would mention...

My BoTh, so I can have sweet life-draining goodness without crippling my dex.

i would go one-handed because i need all the bonuses i can get.

i'm using a VB currently it seems very expensive to upgrade, when i can get everything i need. i might need to rent either a BoTH or an ELS to see which would go better, but i already got VA with the anti-DM RoS.

I've always been a loch fan since cb1, and a BoNE fan here on cb2.

The reasoning being simple, doing damage is fun ;)

Though the difference in damage may be small between the BoNE and MH damagewise, its still there.

One handed weapons...pfft!
The dx penalty with a shield isn't that bad, and when you are dealing with the huge amounts of dx most upper teams have, the penalties become irrelavant, expecially when your weapons get to the point where you can get double hits doing 1mil damage per hit, killing most enemy minions in 1 round.

Or...you could just say I'm a die-hard loch fan with a closed mind and an opened mouth :)

i love the VB now, the upgrade cost for 'x' is only 8% different from the top 4.
