Good gravy! All hail the ultimate power of USD! Now new and improved!
Think is, with low cost static upgrades, you don't really need USD. How long does it take you to earn 7K for that next point of X?
Granted, splashing out some USD on a couple of mil will let you grow your weapon enourmously, but that's a problem for USD trading! ;)

The only problem with the USD spend where this weapon change is concerned is that the big spenders had their weapons at a ridiculously high level already. And up there weapons upgrades got continuously larger for each upgrade. With the change some of them probably got more for their money than they had before!
Ah! so if it cost you 6 mill (old style) to get the last X, with the change based on NW you got a gazillion X compared to the guy below you on only a bazillion?

I like the almost embarrassed tone of Shade's response there. Just shout it out loud Shade!! You did well out of this change!!!!!!

Things really aren't that different in reality. In order to double you damage you need to double the NW of your weapon and double your ST. That's pretty much how it was before. The only thing that was removed was the psychology associated with big upgrades. Upgrades that didn't seem worth it because they were huge, but still provided the same bang for your buck once spent.
In fact, now that I compare the math, it may be the case that it now costs more to double your damage. It only seems overpowering because Jon also boosted the damage across the board and may adjust it down.
