Who plays Runescape? (in Off-topic)

I finally started playing Runescape. I think it's pretty damn good. Passes ALOT of extra time.

Anyways, was wondering, who of you, were members, and if it was worth it to become one? And finally, if there are any of you, that would be willing to buy me RS membership, in exchange for $CB?

It is a fun game, the community is the only thing that gives me problems.

Members is *very* worthwhile, but you should familiarise yourself with the game before you start spending money on it. Otherwise you'll end up with lots of skills you don't know how to use, and from my experience, when you ask for help with anything on there your only response will most likely be "n00b go away n00b".

Just my humble personal opinion, you should wait at least a month before you start members - if for no other reason than to make sure you know what you are getting yourself into.

I'm not a member but I do have a ton of RS stuff =p

BMW makes good points. Also remember that being a member opens up a world of play for you. But everything given is also used against you. I have heard of many people not liking member runescape because of the different ways of dying lol.

So you want to wait, make sure you strong, and be very cautious the first few days of members if you do decide to go that route.

But yes its a great game and worth the 5 smackers a month.

My name there (non-member) is Gryzdark.

I've goten the gist of it so far. I think my lvl is 14-15, been doing a ton of mining and smithing, as well as some cooking on the side. I catch on hella fast. But, I know I will have to start asking questions soon.

1. Where can I mine for Silver?
2. What do I do with Silver bars?

I like the game because it reminds me of FFXI in a way. In the sense that you can customise skills, and things like that. Main reason I want to get membership, is because I like the Rouge type classes. And without it, it wouldn't work.

What are the membership rates there anyways?

$5 USD per month.

The best place to mine silver is in the Craft's guild in my opinion. I haven't played in awhile so I don't know my city names. Silver can be smelted into silver bars and sold for a decent load of cash. I don't know any prices anymore but they should be decent amount close to 500ish gp a bar. When I made my new character I raised mining up to 60 in the first day or two and then I started mining coal for cash. Chopping yews are also a good source of cash, took me 2 days to get to 60 wood cutting.

1: check www.tip.it
2: check www.tip.it

no really, for advice, just check the website it's like a wikipedia for runescape and tells you all about smithing and smelting.

there are some great places for silver on the map but i got lost with the names. just check that site and you'll learn a ton more than you already know about it now.

or runehq.net

Yeah, I would not recommend getting members until at least a higher combat level (60+, but that might be too high, I don't know). Because you wouldn't be able to use most of the member items anyways. But yes, it is definitely worth it to become a member.

And my name on there is toxic_105200 (I bought it from toxic back on CB1, if you remember him) and its combat is 97. and I'm thinking of selling it on ebay for like 120$, but no plans are final yet.

Sorry to double post, but I think this is worth it...

If you like Runescape, you should honestly try silkroad online. But you have to download the client (its free though) - and its 502.9 megabytes. But its worth the wait. Its honestly like a free version of WoW set in ancient china. google silkroad online.

(yes, I know this is off topic, but after all, this forum is off-topic) =)
