CoC or MM ? (in General)

Looking at my battle log I can see that Lorenzo almost never goes beyond 6 rounds and indeed most of my opponents are killed within 4. Folks that beat me take a little longer, but still average less than 7 rounds.
Given the quickness of my battles I'm wondering if CoC is my best option or if MM would be better. Yes, CoC spreads the pain, but would MM be more efficient in the long run?
I have a large amount of experience invested in Cone of Cold so I could change it into a very effective MM. 4 rounds in ranged as opposed to 1 from CoC - what do you think?
My tank is far more offensive than defensive so maybe I'll only ever last 6 or so rounds anyway and a change wouldn't help that much...

For me the change from CoC to MM would be a good thing and allow for an even better "quick kill" approach to battles.

Thoughts?

i think it could be a good idea, MM would take care of meat shields more affective than CoC. but, maybe it could be a little lack of defense... maybe you could work on evening that out just a tad so your tank will last another round or two.

I haven't been here in a while, but maybe a small prot would help keep your tank alive for another round.

MM is very good, especially with the recent changes. However while CoC does give damage to all minions, especially the low AC/HP enchanters, MM is targetted to the back minion. This minion typically is a heavy AC minion with a MgS or massive AC so your 'effective' damage is reduced.

Vs characters such as MageWraith that uses seekers, I suspect your mage gets killed in missile anyway and any spell would be useless. Vs NWO, it might help.

Too bad there is no way to unlearn/learn/unlearn without xp loss just to test it out.

haha, cool... didn't know about/forgot that mm 'seeks' the back minion... never mind my first point.

Mmm, I've given this a bit of thought since our discussion earlier. I hit you a couple of times, ok my team is much much smaller but it gave me a good idea of what's happening. Your tank is doing a lot of damage, but that CoC of yours is hitting for quite a bit per round as well. So by the time it kicks in it doesn't need to do much more than a couple of rounds to help seal the deal.

This is good but it also means that the xp based in CoC is actually not as well used as it would be if you had it in MM. As it stands it isn't the key factor in winning fights, simply the icing on the cake so to speak.

You might be better served using MM instead - don't worry about seekers, they're a problem for a fully mage based team, not a team with a strong tank - and a couple of other tweaks might help.

Firstly your HP levels - including AS are pretty low. I'd be looking at upping them, perhaps even giving your enchanters more real HP, as well as the AS.

Given the cost of increasing damage on weapons now, perhaps upping the amount of damage your ELB does might be a good idea. And then possibly looking at switching from bloodlust to archery. Your tank is strong enough that this might be better for you..MM hitting the back and the archer hitting the front, then going in for a mop up with the Morg.

Getting some more AC on the team finally would be a bonus, rather than a necessity. But a bonus worth thinking about all the same.

The other alternative to ponder would be getting rid of the DD altogether. Maybe making them a smaller tank - perhaps even a UC guy....

Your main damage dealer is your tank so anything else is secondary and should be looked at as a way of helping your tank do his job. MM would be better, simply because he could be cutting down the opposition from the start, instead of simply sitting at the back of the battle and waiting until round 4. By which time the tank has done most of the work.

Since the recent changes I've not had to put anything into BL and all my tank experience has been going in HP only. My Dex is DX: 1,103,177/290,000 and I've been thinking of unlearning the 290k trained to put it into HP instead...?

Likewise every spare penny has been invested in upping the X on my ELB.

"Vs characters such as MageWraith that uses seekers, I suspect your mage gets killed in missile anyway and any spell would be useless. Vs NWO, it might help."

Not entirely true, :) CoC and Decay would be useless, if seekers take you out before melee. But FB/MM would still attack once, twice or thrice, depending on how long your Mage lasted versus the seekers. At a minimum, you would always get the first round attack, as all attacks are simultanious. :)
