Creating a new character (in General)

Ambidex August 23 2006 1:57 PM EDT

Just tried to make one with the name 'Fire':

"We had a problem processing your entry:

The name you chose (Fire) is already taken."

Which it isn't. And theres noone on the whole alphabetical character list, its not even a retired character.

Could someone help me with this?

I think the character with the name Fire is retired. Perhaps autoretired by someone who does not play anymore. You cannot have the same name as a retired or even banned character.

If its been retired or banned is there any way of me getting it deleted so I could use it? I saw on the other thread you could pay 50k to get a char unretired... could I pay some sum of money to get that done?

If it's a retired, or active char, it's "first come, first serve" and depends on how willing the current owner is to cooperate with you.

If it's a banned char, then admins may be willing to help you, but: you have to tell us to which account it belongs to, as we also have no idea, and we've banned way too many accounts in the past ;)

i think it would be easier if you just added something else to the name. The name "Fire" is rather general and in my opinion, boring.

Why not add another word? IE, Fire storm?.

~Or~

You could simply add a number or two behind the name. IE, Fire123.

or take a note from the copy cat name thief crowd and fine a high ascii e or i to use.

like this Novice fIR3 or how about F1rE.

More like ƒ¡®€ I'd say ;)
Unicode allows for much more options...

i have 2 unicode characters in my name, at first i thought it would be cool, but it gets annoying to other people, to some people they can't read it and its crappy for transfers.

try

-Fire-
Fire.
.Fire.
_Fire_

or you can go all unicode :)

IndependenZ August 24 2006 5:13 AM EDT

Doesn't 'F!re' sound cool?

Ambidex August 24 2006 5:47 AM EDT

Heh, thanks for the ideas ppl think I'll do something like ~Fire~

:D
