The joys of USD / CB dealing. (in General)

In reply to this FS/WTB thread created by tetra I agreed to purchase his USD. I'm aware that on his CM he says he doesn't come on to CB much anymore but I don't think it's unreasonable to expect someone to make a little effort when they have agreed to a transaction.
Money was sent within 2 1/2hrs of him advising his paypal addy and almost 1 week later I've heard no reply with my last CM remaining undelivered because he's not logged back in. I sent him an email a couple of days ago to remind him however had no feedback on that either. Looks like he's quit playing, which is ok as many people do, however I'm disappointed that he didn't log back in to close his end of the deal given that the cash is on his char and it would only take him a few mins at most.

Obviously I hope all is well with tetra however I felt it appropriate to reconfirm the already well known fact that USD dealing does not come without risk.
I am not asking for a reset of tetra as this would serve me no purpose - I will remain faithful in the vain hope that he eventually logs in and sends me my due.
I'll keep a close eye on the account to make sure that if he ever does log back in the money is sent to me before he does anything else. If not then I will reset in order to avoid other people suffering the same fate as myself.

You could always invoke "the monty feature" on his account.

I don't think the monty feature would do much for someone who doesn't log in...

Heh! what's this your spending money! and I don't know about, and then you have nothing to show for having spent it. :-)

Perhaps a stupid question but have you tried emailing him/her?

when i did a USD transaction i made it a point to sell or buy from a reliable player. even if i had to pay or accept a bit less. obviously this makes my approach look great but i think for these transactions it needs to be said as much as possible that you need to do your homework.

I always made sure I had the CB$ before I sent the USD.

where's that PR compensation fund thing when you need it?
