This is the third time it has happened to me.
We had -195 / -177 score.
A member left who had 3k CPs. An hour later the clan auto disbands for having under 1000 weekly cumulative score.
People leaving are taking their points with them.

Mmm. Yeah. I think it was me that killed one of the old clans earlier this year!
I think points earned while the player is in the clan should be retained by that clan after they leave. I'm not quite sure I understand how a player leaving has the opposite effect.
If anybody can explain it to me in simple terms I'll be very grateful. :)

that's not completely true, the player who left doesn't retain the plus points, only the negative...
Which leads to clans auto disbanding after a member with large positive points leave.

Indeed, last week my clan also suffered from a serious set back after a member left. Fortunately, we still had quite a positive total points to not be hurt too much by it.
