AMF to FB relationship. (in General)

BootyGod September 20 2006 1:09 PM EDT

Probably know but I decided to take advantage of untraining and do some tests. Got some pretty obvious results, but it may help tanks in preparing to go against tanks.

When AMF and FB are equal AMF casta at .50

When AMF is double FB then it casts at .74

When AMF is triple FB then casts at: .82

When AMF is quadruple then FB casts at: .86

When AMF is FIVE times larger then FB the FB casta at .89

Basically past doubling the AMF over the DD, you are wasting exp.

I will post in a few and see if MM, CoC, and decay have the same relationship.

Miandrital September 20 2006 1:13 PM EDT

yup, ~10x amf to DD ratio is needed for 1.00

BTW, exactly double is .75

BootyGod September 20 2006 1:15 PM EDT

Yeah those are rough. I didn't bother leveling off the extra exp from learning AMF.

AdminShade September 20 2006 1:39 PM EDT

old news? check the AMF chart at cbstuff.nl...

BootyGod September 20 2006 1:45 PM EDT

Pfah. Whatever lol. I just wanted to do this for me and for anyone who hasn't seen that stuff. Not everyone knows about cbstuff lol.

AdminShade September 20 2006 2:57 PM EDT

Perhaps you could extend it and fill in the gaps which I am missing?

i.e. make a scale of AMF effect from 1% to 100% ?

BootyGod September 20 2006 2:59 PM EDT

hmmm I can actually. But I need someone to retrain a character with ( I would say) 100k DD spell. No armor!

AdminShade September 20 2006 3:00 PM EDT

I can do that easily.

BootyGod September 20 2006 3:06 PM EDT

If you would, make it and let me know the amount of xp in it. Then I will start testing. Exactly what values do you need?

AdminShade September 20 2006 3:54 PM EDT

Done :)

BootyGod September 20 2006 3:58 PM EDT

lol Shade, sorry about the CoC thing =D

AdminShade September 20 2006 3:59 PM EDT

np, i couldn't do what I wanted now anyway, but you can still catch those DD vs AMF things :)

BootyGod September 20 2006 4:08 PM EDT

/me grunts like he got punches in stomach

hehe =D

Tigah cast Antimagic Field on Sakura (0.97) at x20
Tigah cast Antimagic Field on Sakura (0.98) at x30
Tigah cast Antimagic Field on Sakura (0.99) at x40
Tigah cast Antimagic Field on Sakura (0.99) at x50
Tigah cast Antimagic Field on Sakura (0.99) at x60
Tigah cast Antimagic Field on Sakura (0.99) at x70
Tigah cast Antimagic Field on Sakura (0.99) at x80
Tigah cast Antimagic Field on Sakura (0.99) at x90
Tigah cast Antimagic Field on Sakura (0.99) at x100
Tigah cast Antimagic Field on Sakura (1.00) at x110

Sakura has a base decay. so I was only off by x100 Bane :P

Caedmon [Revenge of the Forgers] September 20 2006 8:00 PM EDT

Dare I even ask if we have solid evidence that AMF effects all four DD spells equally?

QBsutekh137 September 20 2006 8:37 PM EDT

I would say it does, though Decay's backfire has that whole halving thing going. So, Decay is definitely different in how it manifests itself. The application of AMF, however, appears to be consistent. Hidden differences would just cloud the "choice" issue, and in my experience, that is a hard-six that Jonathan doesn't roll.

Tigah cast Antimagic Field on Chupacabra (0.95)
Tigah cast Antimagic Field on Apollyon (0.95)
Tigah cast Antimagic Field on Leviathin (0.95)

Thanks to Mr. Pit Spawn, sute is correct

AdminShade September 21 2006 2:29 AM EDT

Tigah cast Antimagic Field on Sakura (0.97) at x20
Tigah cast Antimagic Field on Sakura (0.98) at x30

What's x20?

20 times as high AMF as your opponent's DD?

Miandrital September 21 2006 2:38 AM EDT

re shade: yes

re mael:
Apollyon takes damage from his own Magic missile (121)!
Leviathin takes damage from his own Cone of cold (243)!
Those are equaled sized dd spells. So if I misintepreted you earlier, then you were correct. If I am misinterpreting you now, you are still correct. :)

Miandrital September 21 2006 2:39 AM EDT

I mean caed not mael, sry

BootyGod September 21 2006 10:19 AM EDT

Yes all DD spells are AMFed at the same level.

I made sure of that, especially with Decay.

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] September 21 2006 10:28 AM EDT

AMF backlash formula is something like (I'm having trouble remembering it now!)

AMF% * 0.4 * DD Effect * Number of minions spell targets (1 or 5)

So at max 100% AMF, it will do at most 40% of your modified effect.

Decay is a little different

AMF% * 0.5 * Decay Casters HP at time of Casting

AdminShade September 21 2006 1:33 PM EDT

AMF backlash damage is indeed calculated differently.
