Selling/Trading Room (in General)

I will have a room specifically for trading/selling anything and everything when im on, or if someone else decides to do so..have at her. I think it's a good idea to have a full time room for this, being as its just takes way too much time waiting...waiting... and more waiting...for responses to sales and what not. What about a vote for this modification???

I am not a web designer, nor have I ever ran a website...but I can only assume that by eliminating the FS/WTB forum it would in turn save hard drive space on the server therefore making it faster?...no? This could also be applied to forging services and contest forums.

would also eliminate fs/wtb posting fees which although don't generate a TON of cash, it does generate some.....

Hard drive space isn't an issue these days, though server load is. Having more people in chat would probably increase the load on the server.

And of course, there are people who can't use the Java chat, people who can't use chat from the office, and those like myself who don't like using chat...

Aside from that, there's nothing wrong with sales, etc being conducted in a special chat room, so long as the forums are still available.

I tried that a long time ago and got into trouble for it. mrwuss was being his usual cruel self. I have a strong distaste for that "admin".

The room has been tried and tried to be popular and or working, but it just doesn't work for cb...

FS/WTB is much better in this game. Trust me.

The basic problems is that this game is played across the world. Time zones would cut back strongly on who you could sell to.

I am in favor of a place to do this, and I could easily switch my default chat to it (I already use a different default anyways)

Shade, are you saying that I could do it and not get into trouble for it again?

sounds like a good idea, i would help run the thing, as i am on quite a bit at home when i dont have work, if you need help

You make a good point about the different time zones Dead. I didn't take that into consideration. Hyrule if you want to help keep the room going that would be great, being as I can't be on all the time. I guess we'll see how it goes from here. Thank you for the input everyone.

No one gets into trouble for making a private room so long as they stay within the ToS regarding topic of discussion.

Personally I'd like to encourage a Selling/Trading room created by any individual who has something to sell. Why not...? Anything that promotes community interaction is a good thing, and as long as it stays positive then I'm for it.

Go ahead, make a room, if you're alone in the room and going to be AFK for any length of time just remember to /join carnage or you may get a little kick from an Op from time to time. If kicks do happen don't complain just rejoin and get on with your business, it's no big deal.

If you're being serious, then I might actually use chat again, despite the horrors that Java causes. I'll take your post to mean that you won't be like mrwuss and cause trouble. Thanks, G.
