Running a Tank is hard. (in General)

;)

I hold my hands up. It's hard. A lot harder than running a Mage.

First is the wepaon. You can't just hoard a massive one and use that. Becuase that will lower your rewards to nothing when you start.

You have to continuously use a weapon within your allowance, and continuously upgrade that weapon. Sucks if you're waiting for a better on to come along (or trying to save for a better one, as you don't want to waste cash upgrading a weapon you won't use.

Then theirs stats. Strength will increase your damage, making up for not pumping your weapon, but now, you really need Dex. It is the most important Tank stat. Without it, you can't hit. Evasion has made it's place in CB. It's a worthy Skill now!

I've even had problems facing DD familiars backed by Haste!

So you pump Dex, then you get hit by EC! You can hit, but you do so for toffee!

Oh my, I look back fondly on the days of having to pump just one trained stat, and knowing that with each pointof XP I use in it, my damage will increase at a constant pace.

I have to agree, that's why you either have to use a ToA or stick to only 1 or 2 minions. And you better have a few weapons ready or you can do your own forging on Sundays.

Or you can always do what I do.

Use really, really, really weak equipment and just fight the same people over and over and over and over.

But I started a single mage because you need money to compete as a good tank. At the same time, you don't need money to compete as a mage.

Although being a tank is so much more fun...

oddly enough, the changes to make this tank blender made it harder to raise a tank...I had a blast building Critical Fumble as a heavy tank from the ground up...
I can't imagine how much harder it would be now...

There is a much stronger need to specialize when building a char now, trying to maintain a decent fightlist and run a balanced strat seems out of the question.

evasion is also broken, multiplying both the minus to hit and defensive dex (if that is indeed the case) is a huge mountain for tanks to climb, especially when we are taking a double penalty to PTh with the formerly must have tank weapon (elb).

GL: you're a born tank! :p

I find it a bit hard to find good targets in clans atm but rest seems quite easy :)
