Archery is not buggy (in General)

AdminJonathan November 11 2006 11:51 AM EST

There is no basis for this claim; multiple people are getting 4-hits and 3-hits with archery and ELBs.

Be more careful about generalizing from single data points, people. ("I missed once, therefore there must be a bug!")

ummmm I am 0/9 in ranged combat right now, against anyone....

that bothers me a little bit.... 0/22 in melee is a bit discouraging as well

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] November 11 2006 12:00 PM EST

My point was that with a large dex advantage, and a +100 box, I was still not seeing triple hits in the third round of ranged, I asked if there were additional unlisted penalties in play because I saw them. I also saw minions with LESS dex and much less + hitting people I couldn't touch.

Besides that, PLEASE FIX WHAT YOU DID SO WE CAN HAVE BIG XP!

I'll attempt to give you all the data points I can as soon as you unbreak everything...

I'm with Velvetpickle on the feelings of discouragement! :-)

Archery might not be bugged but when I have 300k DX against 20 DX and no evasion, shouldn't I at least hit once every round in ranged?

Also I seem to be missing in melee, with a melee weapon equipped, with the same DX gap...

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] November 11 2006 12:13 PM EST

no shade, you're not training archery...

there is an additional issue ATM...

there are penalties to both the PTH and CTH of bows (for not training archery), penalties to round 1&2 (AND THREE?) of ranged, and penalties to dex and hitting in the first round of melee...LOWER DAMAGE and LET ME HIT SOMETHING!

AdminShade November 11 2006 12:15 PM EST

well novice, that might be so, but before a few hours ago, I was actually landing a lot of double hits in ranged, even without archery... explain that then?

Adminedyit [Superheros] November 11 2006 12:16 PM EST

My VB: Vicissitude [75x2540] (+100)
My ToA: Blessed Darkness lvl 1,645,955
My Hits Per Battle: 0 that includes melee and ranged :(

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] November 11 2006 12:19 PM EST

You shouldn't be able to land double hits shade, I can't see any possible way for that to be correct...

If I can't consistently hit double hits on familiars in ranged there is no way you should EVER be able to...

AdminShade November 11 2006 12:25 PM EST

Well, I certainly was, because as far as I know, DX determines if you hit or not, and improves the chances...

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] November 11 2006 12:27 PM EST

without archery, you have 20% of your dex based CTH and 20% of your PTH...

Kliktu November 11 2006 12:30 PM EST

I fought a guy in the 900's score range and didn't hit at all! I didn't just miss once, I missed every single round of both ranged and melee combat and, in my lowly opinion, thats impossible!!!

AdminJonathan November 11 2006 2:11 PM EST

doh, while I was adding logging to make sure it wasn't broken, I broke it. sorry everyone.

AdminJonathan November 11 2006 2:15 PM EST

"without archery, you have 20% of your dex based CTH and 20% of your PTH..."

not so. DX is not affected by lack of archery, only base CTH and weapon PTH.

I'm not sure if that's a bug or not, but that's how it works right now. :)

AdminShade November 11 2006 2:30 PM EST

In other words, with enough DX you can still double hit with Bows even without archery.

AdminJonathan November 11 2006 2:46 PM EST

yes

but I wouldn't care to train enough dx to make that happen vs someone with evasion :)

AdminShade November 11 2006 3:02 PM EST

Which I also won't do, though atm I haven't gotten characters in my list with evasion ;)

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] November 11 2006 3:20 PM EST

I'll try and produce complete data points beyond my thread, but I don't understand why after training archery, I'm seeing the kind of penalties I'm seeing.

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] November 11 2006 3:21 PM EST

no roll back?

Shooto November 11 2006 3:24 PM EST

Wasn't that long of a break. Should have forged during that time.
