Question About Melee Weapons.. (in General)

Well, in another thread, it was said by Ranger and agreed by someone that the VB is better than the BoTH because of its ability to slice through defenses. But is the VB better than a MH as well? And is the VB the best melee weapon?

I don't think you can qualify any weapon as "the best" there is only the best for your Character vs. certian characters.

If you face an opponent with 0 AC, Both is better than VB (due to life leach and higher damage potential) The same would be said about MH vs. VB. Some charachters would argure the VB better than MH, due to the lower dex penalties and ability to have more multiple strikes.......

It is all dependent on your strat, and the strat of your opponnents.

I think that the reasoning behind why the VB is the best is that no matter what other weapon you are using. The damage can be reduced through protection, AC, and endurance. But the VB reduces a lot of that making a lot of nw useless.

in the upper ranks damage reduction is king, and the VB answers that quite well, any team not invested heavily in defense is likely also weak in regards to the blaster rifle style elb...so the vb/elb combo is in my opinion, a far better choice for the game we're playing now...

However, when Novice and I completely agree on something, it likely is right.

The VB has a nice base damage, is one handed and cuts through prot/AC/TOE like a hot knife. What other item nerfs a tattoo 40% except for the MgS vs IF/SF/FF?

Before the big melee change, upgrading a VB was quite painful. However with the new linear upgrade model, it is a bit worse then the big 4 weapons.

With PL out there, the odds of leeching someone has dropped. Most people use PL and as you know, PL stops VA, even inate Bth or MH VA.

Maybe if PL didn't counteract the innate VA of MH and BoTH this discussion might be more interesting...

Hah, no just answering the mans question, you'll have to wait till later on this month for a full explanation of just how much better it is than a MH or BoNE verse the actual opponents at the top.
