Rule clarification (in General)

noneedforthese December 13 2006 10:59 PM EST

I think i read somewhere that you can send gifts of any size to someone as long as it's not your multi.
I'm sending a friend on mine (completely different IP) 'gifts' of sorts, and wanted to make sure that I wasn't going to be reset/banned/penalised somehow for it... He is *eventually* going to pay me back, considering he has NUB and all...
If this is not allowed, then I will publicly set out a repayment plan to please the admins ;P

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] December 13 2006 11:10 PM EST

people with the nub don't need anything but directions to the help section really...

deifeln December 13 2006 11:17 PM EST

Anything you give him is just going to decrease his awards, unless it is small NW crap that he can just buy himself....

noneedforthese December 14 2006 12:06 AM EST

lol thanks guys, I guess what you mean to say is "no you're not going to be reset but you are an idiot for giving him stuff"
Advice taken, but ignored! :)

Miandrital December 14 2006 12:26 AM EST

I think they are saying something more along the lines: You might be able to send stuff to him, but we are not really sure since multi-ing has many forms. Better be safe than sorry. Besides, he doesn't really need any items and the best thing you could do for him would be to pay for his supportership.

AdminShade December 14 2006 2:33 AM EST

You will only make youself and him a bit more suspicious, multis have been seen using multiple IP addresses at the same time...

noneedforthese December 14 2006 3:39 AM EST

lol sure, i agree shade... but seriously, you think I'd jump back and forth between houses and fight 3000 BAs a day?!?!? If I was capable of that, i *deserve* to multi ;) just joking.
On a more serious note, once he graduates from new players, I'm sure you'll see us conversing in the chatroom... besides, repayments will be made.. and I'm just making myself look more suspicious by drawing this out unnecessarily! Huzzah!

AdminG Beee December 14 2006 4:01 AM EST

If you trace my IPs you will see me in France one minute and the UK the next. I don't jump back and forth from one country to the next to use BA...

UltimaSpock [Forge Frog Services] December 14 2006 4:08 AM EST

hi gbee!

how are you doing this???

QBBast [Hidden Agenda] December 14 2006 4:21 AM EST

He actually does go to France to get through his BA when wifey needs the PC.

Phrede December 14 2006 4:26 AM EST

I have IP's in London, Frankfurt, Boston, Toronto, Riyadh, Johannesburg, Sydney, Hong Kong, Amsterdam, etc. Its great getting 20,000 BA per day but very expensive ;-)

QBBast [Hidden Agenda] December 14 2006 4:27 AM EST

Frequent flyer miles are paying for your equipment upgrades?

QBJohnnywas December 14 2006 4:57 AM EST

whoosh, there goes G Beee. You'll believe a Scot can fly.

the only Scotsman to wear his under pants over his kilt. Oh wait, he doesn't wear pants under so that is... urgh.

UltimaSpock [Forge Frog Services] December 14 2006 6:35 AM EST

but how can you have different IPs?
I believe i have a single one, and it is constant!

QBJohnnywas December 14 2006 6:40 AM EST

G Beee is everywhere. And that is why Multis should beware.

AdminG Beee December 14 2006 6:49 AM EST

"I believe i have a single one, and it is constant!"

Nope, you've actually used 33 different IPs... IP address is not the only way to catch cheaters. It helps, but there are many other factors taken into consideration before we call multi on a person. One of those factors is player transfers - there's no surer way to register on the radar of the admins (and other players more often to be honest) than by making un-paid for transfers.

noneedforthese December 14 2006 2:26 PM EST

But G Bee, surely that's not solid concrete proof that the persons involved are multis?
But now I'm scared alittle, so I will talk to my friend about making a public announcement for a repayment plan ;P

bartjan December 14 2006 2:36 PM EST

noneed: not only does there need to be odd behavior, what's also required is that there is no reasonable other explanation. We will not ban someone if there are other plausible explanations for the common IP (such as: it's an IP owned by a school or library) or transfers, in that case the standard to be considered a multi is drastically increased.
