Not for the weak of stomach... (in Off-topic)

Well, as some of you might know, I work in a supermarket very near my home.

In the supermarket we have a refridgerator for milk and other products which require cooling that don't fit in the store itself, It has a cooler and a drain for water.

Today I saw that the 'fridge' was quite empty and we had an hour to spare so I thought to clean the fridge. All went well until...


We opened up the drain and saw what was inside... a substance which could be best described as oil and dust with the stench of poo! truly and utterly horrible.

And the worst part of it is that we had to pull it out of the drain and clean the cup in which it was set, the cup is a sort of safety device which allows water to flow down the drain, but not up.

So while I was cleaning it, several colleages went to look what that awful smell was and some of them almost had to throw up... perhaps more due to the fact that I was cleaning it with my bare hands rather than of the smell but still, just lovely...


I only hope it won't take another 1.5 years before the fridge will be cleaned ;)

p.s. my hands don't stink anymore after I just washed and scrubbed them with quite aggressive soap... :)

There used to be a boy in my class at school who smelt of stale milk. That was pretty bad.

One of my first jobs was working in a supermarket. I went through the same experience that you describe. Only I was clever enough to wear gloves lol....;)
