The AX currently stops draining dex after the minion it's hitting gets drained to zero... this means that it can't help in the war against evasion as good as it might if it were able to continue to drain after hitting 0...this would make seeker bolts useful (hit mages with no dex, but lots of evasion and drain it all away)...and would put a little dent in evasions now formidable armor.

Good point, nov! I'm all for that as well.

But nov,
You still have to hit those darn mages with your axbow a few times anyway.
getting a single hit isn't impossible, and from there it should open up..

Not if they have PL novice, you have to drain the dex of the PL minion first, then you start on the mage.
So with multi minion teams, count on at least 2 hits needed.

good point, PM.
Even if you hit, first time round, it'll still have to drain the 20 DX chanters, so that wastes a whole round, then you've got two rounds to drain some.
Unless, it only drains that 20 and moves onto the original target? I just want clarification on that, I don't think it is.
first hit drains the DX from the PL minion, subsequent hits drain the targeted minions DX (if any)
