Whine time (in General)

Just wanted to whine. My BL TSA AS character has been utterly and completely hosed by these changes.

The TSA no longer gives magic protection but instead gives regeneration, but not on AS. Sucks.

The Helm of clear sight gives all those pesky rangers an extra chance to kill me before melee.

The Junction allows them to get an extra shot for their familiars and double the effectiveness of all their armor for free.

And, of course, a new familiar to do more ranged damage.


Where's the love for melee? Every combat form got a boost except melee and decay. So the real question is "Was melee over powered. Was this about balance?"

Adapt. Everyone else has to. Unless they are an archer with a familiar.

All good points. Junction (especially the fact that things like HoC and AoI transfer using base Junction) and the HoC are definitely mage buffs.

But mages have not been getting a lot of love recently, and looking at the number of tanks hefting only melee weapons, I think melee has been doing pretty well prior to this...

I am doing much better now with melee only. Before I needed to use my Elb to keep a few people off of me. With all of the high DM's, it is best to pass on all of those enchantments that can be fizzled.

Sut: I agree. Though I may whine, I think melee needed to be taken down a peg. DD has been taking steady hits for a while and this should help.

Mikel: How is you are doing better in melee??? What changed and how did it help you?

Another thing that bears mentioning. Most of the items and changes have increased damage which has made combat shorter. I'd be curious to see what the average length of battle is. Perhaps hitpoints could be buffed to account for it? Maybe a change in the formula for gaining hitpoints so less experience nets more hitpoints or AS? Unless shortening combat is a desired thing?

Evasion and a TSA does wonders for creating Stalemates. ;)

I have a melee only team built on small damage over a long period of time so I am not crazy about these changes.

But this NCB is over in ~3 weeks so I can start up a mage one. Then I will have two 1 mil mpr teams, and can unretire back and forth based on how changemonths go :D

I mean I love the changes for what it has done to gameplay options, but at the same time have to rethink my current set up (as to not get hosed by mages).
