About the Elven Hauberk (in General)

Is the info in the WIKI correct ? 2% Magic penalty ? Because if it is, I think it would kill MCM badly like how VB killed ELS, katana. I mean, even if the + doesn't add AC, it still much better than MCM considering how it reduce magic damage pretty nicely, compared to losing 50-60 AC which does 'almost' nothing. (seriously, mages don't need AC to begin with.)

I'm not saying that the EH should be nerfed like making it 10 % magic penalty or something (because that would make it another tank item) but how about giving MCM a boost ? maybe a permanent 10 % DD boost.

I could be wrong but I think the MCM is cheaper to upgrade than the EH. If someone is looking for high AC the MCM is a better option.

Yeah, the MCM is quite a bit cheaper to upgrade. I think the +32 on the EH is about the same cost as the +38 on the MCM plus you can forage the MCM and save even more money. I would eventually like to outfit my enchanters with the EH over the MCM strictly because single FB mages destroy me.

Unless you can prove it to me that AC is extremely useful for Mages, I'd say that's a very weak argument.

I mean I could prove it to you with or without my MCM, my fightlist would still be the same, and the people who farmed me will be the same too.

More expensive upgrade cost but infinitely better in the end ? Yeah I'd choose EH too.

10% DD boost is overpowering the item.

Though, the Elven Hauberk, when gaining the exact same magic resistance will be almost as good as the MCM in round 20, and much better in round 1, for magic damage.

Changing one item, especially a single piece of armor shouldn't change your fight list anyways. I can take off my ToA and still beat everyone on my fight list without it but can only add 1-2 people with it. I'm assuming the PR weight on the MCM is lower than that of the EC also. Its still an elven item, meaning it should be light with low hinderance whether it be magical or physical. I think the item is fine how it is now.
