the dwarf at the forge makes mistakes (in General)

UltimaSpock [Forge Frog Services] January 18 2007 1:33 AM EST

can somebody tell my why i got this error:

it cooled down my axbow for the end of the first cycle
once it was cool to the touch, i tried one time to heat it for the second cycle of heating
whatever the duration, it is impossible to make an error here.

so what?

A drop of water sizzles on your Assassin's Crossbow
You heat your Assassin's Crossbow
your Assassin's Crossbow is cool to the touch
A Dwarf who has been watching approaches you. "That's no way to do it. Here." He takes your Assassin's Crossbow and plunges it into the water bath until it is cool, then hands it back.
You heat your Assassin's Crossbow
your Assassin's Crossbow is cool to the touch
You quench your Assassin's Crossbow in the water
A drop of water sizzles on your Assassin's Crossbow
You quench your Assassin's Crossbow in the water
You see blue spots on the surface of your Assassin's Crossbow
You quench your Assassin's Crossbow in the water
You can feel heat radiating from the tongs as you hold your Assassin's Crossbow
You quench your Assassin's Crossbow in the water
You detect a faint red glow from your Assassin's Crossbow
You quench your Assassin's Crossbow in the water
your Assassin's Crossbow glows a dark red
You quench your Assassin's Crossbow in the water
your Assassin's Crossbow glows a dull cherry-red

did your RPM% go up. I see that some cycles require an extra quench after being cool to the touch.

Flamey January 18 2007 1:36 AM EST

it's based on if your RPM increases not if it's cool to touch, as hatch said, some require an extra quench, like the AC.

UltimaSpock [Forge Frog Services] January 18 2007 1:37 AM EST

axbows do not require an extra cooling

"it's based on if your RPM increases..."

The [naked] Hatchetman, 1:35 AM EST
"did your RPM% go up."

It's based on RPM % increase, not if it's cool to touch.

whatever the duration, it is impossible to make an error here.

very easily, if you made a small mistake before, then you end up with a not completely cooled axbow, in which case it DOES need an extra cooling.

only reheat when your RPM% has went up, THEN you can't make a mistake...

UltimaSpock [Forge Frog Services] January 19 2007 9:44 AM EST

you're correct, the previous message before is cool was A drop of water sizzles on your Assassin's Crossbow instead of a warm touch or something like that.

so i guess i had done a mistake in the first cycle of heating

thx

No, there are some items when being forged that will say cool to the touch twice

Zoglog[T] [big bucks] January 19 2007 12:27 PM EST

Axbows are not one of those items smallpau1.
Spock really did make a mistake in the first heating.

"axbows do not require an extra cooling"

Didnt see his line right here, didnt think he even knew about the extra quench on some items.

But yea, after i posted i went to check the formula

"so i guess i had done a mistake in the first cycle of heating "

That was my assumption when i first saw the post.
