On my player information website it lists items that were up for auction that I've never even owned. And when you click on them it says they were auctioned off by me, even though I've never ever seen/owned those items before. :\

If a character previously owned by another user auctioned them, then yes, you (as the new owner of the character) did own them. You just never posessed them...
Character's conduct auctions, not players.
In CB, there are Minions, owned by Characters, Characters owned by Players, and Players owned by real people.
