Carnage troubles. (in General)

Im getting these more and more.

Im using FF with zonealarm as firewall.
shutting the firewall down has no effect what so ever.

Im noticing the chat well spew out chunks of information at the time, not continues or streaming as it should do.
At one point im getting no lines and after a minute all of the lines typed by other users come as a flood.

When fighting we get botchecks and when i get them i get timeout errors. Is this happening with more players or just me?? And even trying to get this posted gets me timout errors.

More info: Cleaned out cookies, reset the router, restarted the PC, used IE instead of FF same thing happend, shut down the firewall.

Are you at home or at work / uni perhaps? At uni I can get onto the CB but it won't start up chat. I can download from servers but not from other people like direct connections (if that makes sense)

When the chat says you're in "idle mode," then you begin to receive chunks of chat at one time. If you PM yourself, you'll de-idle, and then you'll begin to receive chat normally again.

More info, im at home no restriction on the internet what so ever. Im not in idle mode. Idle mode btw does spew out chunks after a few minutes but after that first spew the stream of info is still continues

Hank, it sounds like you have a very high ping between yourself and the CB server.

Go to Start>Run and in the box that pops up type 'cmd' without the quotes.
Then in the DOS box tht pops up, type
ping www.carnageblender.com
and hit enter.

You should get a screen full of information, but what you are looking for is the last line that has Minimum, Maximum and Average values, as well as the values that appear after 'time=' above it. Those values *should* be 250 or below for a decent connection, below 100 for an excellent connection.

Minimum = 325ms, Maximum = 373ms, Average = 348ms

...and CB runs fine for me.

I have the same sort of problem with chat. Sometimes, for a reason I haven't figured out, chat won't update until I switch to a new tab, then switch back. Then it floods with all the messages I missed. :/

I'm also using FF, but on a Mac.

I don't get any problems other than that, though.
