Question/Observation about DB's and evasion (in General)

QBRanger February 1 2007 8:05 AM EST

This is just my observations:

When I attack Critters, Jayuu's character, I sometimes use an axbow.

His tank has a very high +175 set of DB's on. His tank uses Bloodlust and not evasion. However, I was under the assumption that DB's alone do not give a multiplier to their effects in missile rounds, and of course should not give extra "defensive" dex.

However, when I attack Critter's, I hit his tank with my axbow either 1 or 0 times in missile rounds. BUT, when I do hit, it is always in the 3rd round of missile. Never the first or second missile round.

If the DB's do not give extra benefits in missile rounds, why does this happen?

Any idea would be welcome.

How many times have you observed this? Maybe its just randomness ;)

you're right that there is no bonus to DBs in ranged

but, all ranged weapons are slightly less accurate in earlier ranged rounds... (similarly, all DD spells do less damage in earlier rounds.) if you're only barely able to hit in round 3 then your odds of hitting in round 1 are probably pretty low.

From this Jon?

Bows (with maxed out archery) now have 90% base to-hit in the 3rd round of ranged combat, except the ELB which has 100% to-hit. Odds are still slightly lower in 1st and 2nd rounds.

Slings and xbows also have slightly greater penalty to to-hit during 1st and 2nd rounds of ranged (but not 3rd round).

And why does evasion granted from UC get the same bonus? Shouldnt evasion trained from evasion only get this boost?

And where can i see how much less accurate the weapons are and at what point (PTH) does this disappear?

Henk, I think it is safe to say, more generically, that "trained" Evasion is multiplied, while net-worth-based Evasion (DBs) is not.

As far as the specifics behind all this, yeah, it gets really hard to test and know how things work... :\

Got it,

Thanks Jon.

Archery doesn't help xbows and slings does it?

TheHatchetman February 1 2007 9:55 PM EST

wiki much?

Archery increases the chance to hit for all normal bows (not crossbows or slings).

I've read it multiple times, I'm just very unperceptive and missed that ONE part lol. Anyway, thanks.
