MPB, Mages, Tank, oh my. (in General)
MPB. 2,941,754.
Not greatly indicative of usual damage. I spoek to the owner of this MPB today, and it was got using Pumped Ammo. But that's not the thrust of this post. ;)
His usual MPB is arond 1 Million. With normal sized ELBow and Ammo.
Cool. That's like a 2 Million trained DD.
But actually, He would usually hit three times per round, making his average damage 3 Million per round. That's more like a 6 Million trained DD.
This is on a 650K MPR character.
Taking Hubbell as an example, 2 Million MPR. Hubbell would need to almost double his trained DD to output 3 Million dmaage per round.
But that's ok and balanced isn't it?

Using massive AG, CoI, and the largest CoC in the game..
Undecided's Cone of cold hit The Chant [2032032]
Best hit I ever got. Ever. And I only get one. Starting in melee...
Hope that helps.

I do not think most people agree with the ability to upgrade ammo, given the super damage the ELB does.
Especially when used for defense.
IE, a x3000 elb with normal arrows does more damage in missile then my x12000 MH.

GL, the multi-hit argument can be offset by the fact that physical damage can also _miss_. DD never can. Multi-hits can be foiled by DBs, dexterity, and Evasion. So that at least provides _some_ balance...
I hear your point loud and clear, it just isn't quite as cut and dried as that. *smile*
I feel it is Sute.
After a point, Physical can never miss.
But even if you do cut the number of attacks per round by half (through the ways you listed for example), that's no different to a mage facing an AMF of 50%.
;)
Pops, this damage is what he usually did. Not on defense. Granted the MPB was from super ammo. ;)
Oh, I should also add the ELBow was fully under his WA as well, so added no PR to hit team.

Also
Remember that a walls AC is very high vs physical damage (where all of it counts), but not as high vs magic damage (only the + counts).
IE, my wall takes a lot more damage vs Sut's MM then vs Jayuu's x9000 MH hitting me for 4 times a round.
AC 410+TOE vs physical against AC 266+TPE vs magical. That is a large difference.
I know, I am an extreme example but there are advantages to playing a mage.
I agree. But then your wall could instead use an EH and a MgS. ;)
Don't forget about Pop's EC, making Jay dish out less damage than normal.

My EC is 600k, surely not enough to put a dent in over 3.3M Str.
That depends on how much 300K STR influences damage. ;)
GL, I don't disagree with you, however heres my spin on the same topic :D
"His usual MPB is arond 1 Million. With normal sized ELBow and Ammo." = $$$ + arm and a leg
That's like a 2 Million trained DD = $0
I make 1 mil/week, on a good week. It's going to take a long time for my tank to reach that kind of damage. A normal sized Elbow plus gear is still pretty pricey for the average player (thats me :D).
Yes, tanks can dish out oodles of damage, but it takes cash and time (or deep pockets).
I think more interesting numbers would be to compare MPB:NW:PR against DD:NW:PR. I think there will be a more useful comparison there.
Horse, take a look at ELB past auctions. ;)
With the exception of the massively big ones, most went for 1 to 1.5 Mil. So a week to week and a halfs playing can get you one.
Spend another couple of weeks upping the X and you have a nicely sized Elbow. ;)
Not really an arm and a leg. ;)
hrm interesting...have to admit I was under the impression they were still very very pricey.
I'd could handle giving up a few fingers for one :D

A lot of people tend to have 4 minion teams, an MEEE or TEEE, 3 corns can cost over 10 mil...
or that 10 mil could go straight into a weapon if you don't bother with the corns ;)
/me looks around and whispers *stop beating the horse guys it's already dead*

Who killed the pony?
Horseguy is dead and beaten! O_O Who let this happen? ;)
the only point at which physical damage doesnt miss is when you stop upgrading your defenses to make it miss
It's ok I'm used to it...
I can still banter from a fragile, beaten, broken position :D
