I am not K-Mart, Wal-Mart, or even S-Mart (in General)

QBRanger February 18 2007 2:14 PM EST

I have no idea who has what for sale more than anyone else in the game. So, please stop flooding my PM and CM boxes with stupid questions asking who has a large/small/medium sized xxx for sale.

Any such questions in the future will get this response:

I don't know, I don't care, I have no idea, I could not care less. Why would I have an inside tract as to who has an XXX for sale when I can look in FS or auctions like you can. Or.. better yet, post a FS/WTB thread yourself.

So, please look at FS/WTB threads and auctions. AND, if you really must have an item like you want, perhaps a FS/WTB thread is in order instead of flooding other peoples PM and CM boxes with stupid questions.

Now, I will get off my soapbox.

I agree, Popsicle Man... I obviously don't get as many random PMs as you do, but I've been getting more lately... There is a place for every question you can imagine, whether it be FS / WTB / Strategy / Etc... it's the forums... by asking in the forums, you can ask a specific question to a specific person and get an answer from many people, maybe better answers than the one person you wanted to ask... I understand there are special circumstances where you want a private conversation, but just think about it a moment, and it will most likely become clear that the forums would offer more, anyhow.

GO PATS February 18 2007 2:29 PM EST

Examples...

PMing everyone in "Carnage" to come to another chatroom... Could be posted in the forums so everyone could see it... would take less time and effort and would be less intrusive...

PMing someone about an item that they are wearing that you want to buy... and when they say they really don't want to sell it but you can make an offer anyway, don't quote the lowest past auction price and then get annoyed and insulting when they say, "No."

Come to Oddbird, the oddest place around! :P

We need a new category for people.
We have QB's what we need is a few OT's

OT's just rough up and abuse anyone who hassles the QB's

Hmm
[OT]Lochnivar.... has a nice ring don't you think.
As an added bonus it gives me an outlet for my contempt for fools.

If anyone doesn't understand the oh so subtle football references I will furnish explanations upon request.

BootyGod February 18 2007 3:21 PM EST

...

OT= the fat people who push really hard and stand in front of the guy who throws the ball.

How's that?

Lochnivar February 18 2007 4:09 PM EST

Well technically thats correct...
The offensive tackles 'protect' the QB's from unwanted attention... it seems a logical extension of a metaphor (note: a logical extension of a hypothetical metaphor... I'm not sure of the original reasoning behind 'QB' as a designation.)

And no I'm not fat and useless (useless is fairly widely agreed upon but nobody calls me fat)

Meh, it seemed like a good though at the time.

Whoa, that sentence is probably going on my tombstone.

How about Tesco or Sainsbury, maybe you could even be Morrisons if you find yourself at the lower end of the retail industry?

;)

One hundred points for using S-Mart in a thread title!

TheHatchetman February 18 2007 9:33 PM EST

Ah... So you're one of General Smart's men?

AdminNightStrike February 18 2007 9:45 PM EST

the heck is s-mart?

QBRanger February 18 2007 9:50 PM EST

For those unfamiliar with S-Mart:

Look up the following movies:

Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2, and Army of Darkness. In the Wikipedia, S-Mart can be found if you look up the last movie.

A trilogy of great movies, the first was made for only 35k, all starring Bruce Campbell.

The famous saying from those movies: "Shop Smart, Shop S-Mart"

Thraklight Resonance February 18 2007 10:33 PM EST

"Now listen up, you primitive screwheads. See this? This... is my boomstick! The 12-gauge double-barreled Remington. S-Mart's top of the line. You can find this in the sporting goods department. That's right, this sweet baby was made in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Retails for about $109.95. It's got a walnut stock, cobalt blue steel, and a hair trigger. That's right. Shop smart. Shop S-Mart. You *got* that?"

So I should stop saying "I don't know, go ask TRR." ?
