Loaning Idea... (in General)

I lent my car to my friend for one week... but he got his truck fixed and didn't need the car anymore... And I really needed my car back early to get up to Jiu Jitsu, but couldn't get there because of this annoying rule that loans can't be sent back early by the loanee...

Hey I just noticed how similar this is to the CB2 loaning rule! Jeez, I know it can't be fixed in the real world (lame) but was considering that it might not be too too hard to change here in CB (good)... Actually I wasn't considering, I was more hoping...

Anyway, is this something that anyone else feels the same about? I just think that there should be an option to send back un-needed items that have been loaned to you, before the loan time limit is up...

I agree - on the Loaned/rented items page, can't there be a 'send back now' option?

Well wouldn't that be pretty much the same as a permanent transfer, except without paying those nasty higher transfer fees? :)

With a perm xfer, there is no guarantee you will get the item back.

I think he means if if you rent an item, and say you buy the same thing but it's better than the rental, you can send it back, ending the rental before it's actually over.

I think there was already some posts about this in the past. Still, I'd like to see it.

Very true, I think the trade-off for getting the lower fees and the item back to you guaranteed is the "solidified" loan time. Being able to send it back when you wanted gives you the best of all worlds. Probably not Jon's intent.

Sending the item back is at the discretion of the loanee, not the loaner. So just like you have no guarantee of getting an item returned with a permanent transfer, you have no guarantee of getting an item returned early with a loan should the option be implemented.

What I would like to see is the option to end the rental of an item by the loaner if the item is not rented. If you have put the item into rental for long periods and nobody rents it, it will be stuck in the system until it goes back to the loaner.

Yeah, that'd be nice too... I agree with Kong Ming...

i like the idea of being able to cancel a rental if not taken at that present time, and the option for the person who rented or is loaned an item to return it before its over.
