Idea for ammo auctions... (in General)

smallpau1 - Go Blues [Lower My Fees] March 7 2007 9:07 PM EST

Can we set a maximum time limit on ammo for 12-24 hours? Because it is VERY VERY annoying placing a bid on ammo that isnt even over for 4 days. And then not being able to go over 14999 with winning bids counting towards that number....

This is just a thought that came to my mind when someone else offered me ammo of the same type i was bidding on in auctions, but coudlnt because it wouldve gone over the 14999 limit with my winning bid, although i had my bid winning for more than a day straight...

I've sent CMs to people selling ammo on auctions with long time periods. Figure it this way, the ones who use it the most, will pay the most. If they miss an entire day, then they don't really use much, now do they? Shorten auctions. 24 hours is fine to give everyone that logs in that day a chance to see it, any more than that is excessive. Not to mention, a complete waste of listing fees

Although, on the flip side, it is your responsibility as a buyer to know when to place a bid. For example, if you see a set of 14k Seekers in an auction with 5 days left. You should know not to place a bid for at least another 4 and a half days...

Just my two hundredths of a buck :)

Also, folks who put up stacks of 14,789 ammo and wonder why
it doesn't sell ... it's because anyone using that ammo has to run
out before they can buy your batch. So don't make them go
without ammo for 5 days to try and buy your arrows. Make it
easy on your potential customers.

I agree though, a 5 day base ammo auction is pointless.
Sure, if you're selling your named, x100 +30 arrows, maybe, but
otherwise, 24 hours max.

I see no problem.

If someone wants to wait 4 days before their arrows/bolts/ex shots sell, it is their pejorative.

No one is forcing you to bid on any ammo auction till the last 24 hours, just wait till then to bid.

I do, however, agree that it is foolish to have ammo auctions last more then 1 day, but there is no reason to stop people from putting a long time on their specific auction.

I think you mean prerogative PM.

Unless you really mean that they wish to belittle themselves over ammo purchasing ;P
