GA vs. ToE question (in General)

I have never used GA and am just starting to explore the ToE's potential.

I was wondering if GA backlash was affected by the casting character's equipped ToE.

In other words, if I have a ToE equipped on a character that also casts GA, will the GA backlash be reduced by its own ToE, or will the GA backlash be just as powerful as if it wasn't wearing that tattoo?

GA retaliates according to the damage taken, so since the ToE blocks damage GA would return less.

A TOE will lower damage you take.
It will not effect any damage your enemy takes from any spells you cast.

Its not a bad thing to combine the two. You are even more likely to deal more damage per hp lost. Losing hp at a slower rate is often better for GA.

That makes sense. I might give it a try.
