I went to equip my Rune of Enlightenment, and it disappeared. I know i didn't sell it as I went down and not up, up is for sell, down is equip. I checked my other character and nothing.

You should nicely ask the person who bought it to send it back for the cost of xfers...
You likely had to click a confirmation window, so next time be more careful.
no confirmation window...ARG...I think I'll CM Jon and request he find some way to fix that for the RoE...

If you check your store log, then you'll see that you indeed *did* sell it to the store. Desh did buy it again shortly after you. I would suggest that you contact him and try to work something out. He does not have to do anything, but most people are willing to cooperate to help solve mistakes.
He was nice enough to give it back to me for xtrnf fee, but since he was nice enough to give it back i sent him some of my other random items.
