New Forger Available (in Services)
April 18 2007 10:45 AM EDT
Jupiter Mining Corporation is back. Let me know what you need forged. I'll be switching to an econ clan by then and should be able to crank out some decent results.
Also, I know every little about econ clanning, but have no qualms about joining up on the econ side (my singleton nature only applies to standard clans). So, if you don't mind taking an econ clan newbie under your wing, I'd love to clan up!
Let me know...
You could always Join us over here with Soup Ream... We would love to have you ^_^
Join the clan We Forge Our Own Stuff. You can have all the benefits of the ermm normal benefits with none of the errmmm drawbacks offff?? Yeah. So Join us now and never look back!! Also OddBird is in the clan, he can do a sexy dance for you?
and I had eyes on the top forging spot now that Ranger isn't a NUB anymore. /sigh .... ah well... i'll still make top 3... :)...

Wasp, I CM'd OB, since he had asked me before about forging and such, so your clan has the inside track. *smile* I need to figure out what I want to do for sure and will be getting back to people today...
Thanks for the offers and comments! Viva la forge!
Sut, I have tons of stuff that could use a forge job...

What rate do people forge at these days? NS, I will let you drive that -- I trust you to give a fair price. *smile* Bring it on! I gotta go dust off my forge-performance spreadsheet and get it onto Google Docs! ROCK!
Sure... rates are typically around 30% of the NW difference..................................... *ahem*............
Im almost sacred to see what Sut can put out in 24 hours...

NS, yeah right... *smile* I'll take 70% or thereabouts...
By the way, is anyone working on forge formulae optimization? I used the CG formula from the Wiki, and 85,15 appears to work every bit as well as 85,16, with one less BA to use. Are there better formulae somewhere else?
Both 85,16 and 85,15 follow the 2,1,5,2 factors, so they are both sweet. The less BA usage means the 85.15 formula yields around $499 per BA while 85,16 yields $497 (and I think the 85,16 trials had a better run of luck -- I only do five cycles per formula to test which is better...

Yeah, I'm pretty sure 85,15 works on a CG just as well with one fewer BA used.
You can check out my forging results (I do a spreadsheet for each item I forge):
CG Forge Results
I am not sure about the "Luck" thing...seems kind of circular, but at least it normalizes NW gained a bit so one knows an average to expect per cycle...
Wow... LoL...you have a lot of time on ur hands... This is what my forging sheets look like, half completed because I got tired of doing it. Laugh all you want
April 18 2007 3:43 PM EDT
I didn't laugh... I shoved a sock in my mouth, so that just about stopped it. *smile*
I don't have a lot of time, that spreadsheet was from my CB1 forging days. Oh yes, the forge is not new to me! *smile* My sheet helps refine recipes to optimal "sweetness", and gives factors to be able to tell which items yield better forge gains. I'd be happy to send you a copy if you wish.
Hmmm...Sure i'll take and bookmark your spreadsheet. I take jobs based on 1st come 1st server basically.

You can join my clan, mine is free for all :P And you don't really need to forge in my clan hehehe, my reason of having an econ clan in the first place is because I want the cheaper transfer fee. And the new forging bonus is really a bonus :)

Half the members of Soup Ream are my former clanmates! Now it really makes me wonder what happened after I left.
April 19 2007 9:58 AM EDT
TheWyldeOne has asked to have his AGs forged after my week on NightStrike CG, for the record. We'll see if I can optimize that formula too. *smirk*
Don't forget to update the wiki...

Good point, sorry, duh... I made changes to forge page and Combat Gi page itself.
