When i get a new minion, i was thinking of training decay. As decay takes away 1/2 the hp of the front minion, what would i gain from putting more XP in to it, as it will always take it half away regardless of the level of it.
Cheers for any help you can give.

Anti Magic Field.
In other words, only learn Decay if you fully understand it.
Mmm, let me rephrase that: if you fully understand it, you know why not to learn it ;)

The only reason to train more then a base decay is to overcome AMF's.
Novice has over 800k levels in decay and vs some average level AMF's, the decay still does a lot of damage to the front minion.
Also, remember that AMF backlash can never kill a decay minion. GA however can.
Also, using a HOC on a minion with decay will allow it to cast in the last missile round.

Really, a Decay + HoC lets it fire in the last ranged round? Sweet! Here I was thinking that was just a CoC thing...

lol i got 3 base decays on my team ;)
my decay has shrunk recently, it's not even 600k after the bonus from my AGs...
I see some backlash north of 100k, but that's against people with AMF above 1.5 mil.
It still does decent damage however, and even with a 0.80 AMF it still contributes enough I don't think the xp could be spent better.
