Botcheck Zoundz! (in General)

AdminQBVerifex June 8 2007 3:51 PM EDT

Got your attention?

Ok, as long as you are reading this I don't care. ;)

I found a way to embed base64 encoded sounds within my GM script, so I was wondering would it be cool to make it so when a botcheck page came up it played a sound? I already have it doing that on my dev copy here, and I was wondering if that would annoy too many people or not.

The current sound I'm using is this: Cartoon head shake

cant get it either

As long as we can toggle it on or off it would be cool. :)

Also, how hard would it be to specify our own sounds?

TheWyldeOne June 8 2007 5:24 PM EDT

yeah I'm all for sounds, it will wake me up when I'm half asleep clicking :P

option to change it and turn it off would be nice too =)

Well, it would certainly have it's place in a script meant to aid people perform on CB, right?

I'd use it for sure.

I already have set up my desktop environment to play a sound whenever a window pops up, so I already get a warning when a botcheck comes up and I hit enter without/before thinking...

Thats Hot! Oops not the Paris thread I like the sound idea though.

stoner14 June 8 2007 7:21 PM EDT

wouldn't this be easier for bot using people? as in have their bot run until the sound and they hear the sound and come do the botcheck and then run the bot again...

Agreed.

I most likely would not use it, but good idea. If you do implement it, an option to turn it off is a must :-P

Good for me too... I was wondering if this would happen. I play at work - a lot - on my own private computer. Often I hit the <enter> key to fight, get a slow response and turn to get some "real" work done - only to turn back to my pc and see I missed a botcheck. Would love to hear a sound telling me to stop working and start playing again!

Could you please set it to off as the default with the option to turn it on.
I really don't want to update the script somewhere down the road, forget that my speakers are turned up and wake up the neighborhood when a bot check comes up.
