Who should CB hate, again? - "Temptation the Game" (in Contests)

This was run aaagggeess ago and went amazingly well, 120 posts and much fun and discussion was had, so lets play again. On a side note, my other contest is still on hold as cant get the files off the old computer or get that comp on the net, bah.

A very simple game, if everyone reads the following rules :)

RULES (to be read).
-
1) The game is : pass temptation.

2) Once you have 'passed temptation' you will never have to face it again.

3) When it is your turn to be tested you will be sent an amount of money with the note "I trust you". You then have 2 options :
Road of disloyalty : "The person who sent me this is an idiot to think I wouldn't keep the money, I hope everyone sees how stupid they are". Then keep the money.
Road of loyalty : "I'd kind of like to keep the money, but its only a few $s cost to pass this on, and I dont want to make the person who sent me it and trusted me look stupid, I'll pass on the money". Then post on this thread you are taking the road of loyalty, then move to step (4).

4) Send the money you recieved PLUS another $500 to someone on the game you KNOW is ACTIVE and you TRUST. If they already passed temptation then you cannot send to them. Basically think to yourself 'who do i trust not to keep the money, who wont let me down?'. Once you have chosen attach the note "I trust you" and dont forget to send $500 more than you recieved and passed. NOW - Post to the thread the transfer log of you sending it, well done. You have passed temptation, you have proven you friend right, lets hope you sent it to a decent person... Good luck.

5) Note if temptation is not passed within 48 hours of it being sent, it is assumed the road of disloyalty has been chosen, so make sure the person you're sending it to will be online with 48 hours and does not take too long over decisions :p

I don't get it, if it can't get passed to you (because you've already passed temptation) and you're to a point, say for example at 100k, how do you get that back..?

That's the whole point Flamey, it's the ugliest game ever...and RD just made it more fun.

And everybody on CB should keep a close eye on this thread, because as the game progresses you run out of 'trustworthy' people to send it to! Hope that if somebody sends it to you, that somebody sends it to you early on!

It is a cool contest. I am definitely in. But what if someone else does not want to play, they would have to pass on 5k on their own money down despite never volunterring? XD

No they don't have to, they can just keep it. 'Course, then everyone hates them....

But the amount of CB$ is very unlikely to become enough to even tempt anyone into being hated.

5k a person takes a very long time to get to a million, especially if a person can only receive it once.

errr... aren't Indie and Pop polar opposites of each other? Independent vs Popular....

You'd think. But when Inde becomes popular with the masses....

I was under the impression that indie was defined at the record label or lack of record label, whether they're with a major record label (Which would be for pop) or minor or just none (Indie).
You don't see Popstars on small labels.

Indie is a musical style these days; and a very broad musical style at that. In the UK the following bands all fall under the Indie umbrella:

White Stripes, Radiohead, Pixies, Franz Ferdinand, Oasis.

All sorts of metal, rock and dance music get lumped in under there - basically if you're not a boy/girl band or playing RnB you could be chucked under the Indie umbrella.

When the term first came into being it was used to describe music that wasn't released on major labels. In the Eighties in the UK that was mostly guitar music as the major labels weren't really touching that unless you were U2 soundalikes. The Smiths are seen as a classic Indie band, so were Joy Division and New Order.

We had an Indie Chart, because a lot of the shops that sold Indie records weren't aligned with the main chart process. The point when the term became some meaningless musical style was when the number one in the Indie chart was Kylie Minogue back in her Stock-Aitken-Waterman phase. Those records were all released on an independent label. At that point Indie froze into some Eighties alternative guitar style and ceased to be about the record label.

Oh you can almost see the sweat on his brow as he tries to resist....

1.25mill would translate into a maximum of 2 pints in a lot of London pubs and 2 and a half in most other pubs.
I get 4 for around that money from practically living in student bars but as a student I have the right :P

My local is ﾣ2.70 a pint. Although when I was in Norway a pint of beer down the local bar was ﾣ10.....that's about 20 USD....

If GL was really intent on stretching his drinking money, he could always pick up a 3-liter bottle of cider or a bottle of Buckfast.
