So here's my shot to get an idea implemented by Da Great Jon.

I believe there was a post from some NUB saying they would love certain supporter items redux, though I am very very lazy to look out for the original thread.

Though the idea wasn't bad, especially for Jon's pocket money's sake, but it kinda defeat certain purposes of supporter item being a limited time offer :)

So here's my idea of redux, can we make those expired supporter items to be available through Black market voting? With maybe conditions like needing 50% more votes for items like these to limit the amount of influx ?

So now NUBs who aren't multis / "play for USD" , that really wish to advance in the game with their desired items, can still have a chance to bid . Especially when this is implemented, it's a good cash sink :) At the same time, veterans who had missed the "limited time offer" can still bid.

That's also an interesting thought. Although I'm of the "Supporter items are one-time items" line-of-thought, I slightly agreed with the idea to buy missed ones for say $10 each from Jon, and I agree even more with this one. But the most with the "one time item" line of thought.

Anywho, there's my opinion on the matter. =) Your suggestion gets a thumbs-up!

I think that this is certainly an interesting idea, but it really does take from the specialness of the limited supporter item. Not to mention that having them spawn via black market would hurt Jon's pocket book. Why pay for it when you can just get it in game?

The idea, unless I'm mistaken, is to reward or thank the supporters, not to only add more items to the game.

I vote no more restocking of old supporter items.

Flamey June 24 2007 11:40 PM EDT

I'd like that.

And I also wouldn't mind rebuying ones that you've missed out on.

people sell supporter items and NUBs buy them. Its already implemented, lol. NUBs make more money than anyone, so they have the money to buy the items.

A little ridiculous that they have to spend 4 mil to get a HoC and we bought it for 600k, just because they didn't sign up earlier?

Paying 4 mil for a base item is a great way to get it nerfed...

i think flameys idea is good buying the ones we missed out on so you would have to become a supporter in order to get these not just be in a clan for a week if thats how it still works

i think this way is better... jon put up past supporter items auctions for USD in the forums once every month... a random supporter item out of those that cant be gotten any more... if anything it would help to ease the demand a little but still keep the prices favorable for those who have the supporter items

MudBug The Redeemer June 25 2007 1:41 PM EDT

Once a supporter item is gone, keep it gone. I missed a few and had to pay big cb2 to get em' so I don't see why everyone else can't either. missed out? tough luck. Save up. I'm sure if you offered enough you could get them.....

Flamey June 25 2007 5:33 PM EDT

"missed out? tough luck. Save up"

That's a bad mindset. If you missed out that's your fault, but for a new player who has just joined the game, its his fault he wasn't here to get the previous supporter items? I Think not. Why do you think the NUB is in place. We're not going to say, "Tough luck, you weren't here at the start of the game, catch up".

Fanta [Fanta's Forge] June 25 2007 5:38 PM EDT

I think there's enough of each supporter item to go around; they're among the most numerous of rare items.

Lumpy Koala June 25 2007 8:10 PM EDT

I think the basis of this is not asking for random spawn , but rather votes from the public. If you think this shouldn't happen, don't vote. With 50% more vote + what the market value it is now, you are probably looking at a spawn rate of like 1 per month or even 2 months :P That's not counting the possibility that 1/2 of the population say no.

Missed out or whatever, this helps to evaluate the need of certain items too. Could help Jon to balance things up if certain item become a "necessity" rather than a "choice" (heavily debated somewhere else :)) Or maybe he can do another redux on popular item for USD like ROE when he deems fit, with the votes as data, it's more precise than guessing.

One thing CB needs is more players. I think we all can agree on that.

Imagine the new players starting out, seeing everyone once he gets to a certain level with their HOC beating him with the same strategy.

Trying to get one and not being able to even find one, but once s/he does having to pay most of their NUB savings.

Now imagine they decide they need a mage wall and have to get a MgS.

I would leave, too much trouble to keep up.

MudBug The Redeemer June 26 2007 9:07 PM EDT

Once again all I gotta say is the NUB provides ample income. Use it....
oh and... Tough Luck kiddies. There limited runs.

Zoglog[T] [big bucks] June 26 2007 9:23 PM EDT

The only advantage players who joined at the start have over new players are those supporter items.
NUB's have an opportunity to be close to 1st place with enough effort over a short timeframe (before the latest reduction as we have seen).
If we keep allowing old supporter items to be brought back into the game then we have nothing to boast but a single sentence on our user page.
