I've already digressed... Everclear, U2, Living Color, Scorpions, Dio, Slade, Thin Lizzy, Funkadelic, don't make me pull up my i-tunes list! And are we only talking bands, or artists as well? No doubt on this, Metallica is the best freaking band ever. New, old, I just think nothing compares. And I may be offending people here but...James Hetfield is the coolest frontman ever, too.

I far disagree with many of your answers if you actually consider yourself a Metal fan.
Just being a fan of Thrash doesn't make you an actual metal fan.
Linkin Park, while having made mistakes (Reanimation and the Jay-Z album) have made huge bounds for Nu-Metal (there is no such thing as 'Neo Metal'). Hybrid Theory, while being diverse throughout the album did not have one bad song on it regardless of your taste.
Slipknot, while being commercial are still a metal band through and through. Songs such as Eyeless, Spit It Out and Before I Forget are easily comparable to what you claim to be 'Metal'.
Manowar started the creation of Battle Metal and concept albums so at least deserve 2 points as well.
While Kreator are a very good band, to try get people to say yes to Sodom by using them is a bad step and to give negatives to such a true band as Korn who are as close to the epitomy of what a metal band should be is ridiculous.
As I said with question 9, Cannibal Corpse are just annoying and Dream Theater don't deserve a mention on any playlist, Venom are reasonable but as long as you disregard the American Idiot album, Green Day on talent and what they put out walk all over the others by a mile (although admittedly not metal, just punk so I wouldn't expect to be given points but from their past, none taken away either).
Pink Floyd on a metal test? giving points for giving a favourite Pink Floyd album? wth?
back to question 8, I chose Megadeth but if you're going to preach thrash metal and give points fairly then surely Slayer should get the same amount since they started around the same time and are on exactly the same level?

You really should be fair to the questions and the quiz by giving points in relation to what they should get, not just what you consider to be the best.
At least if you're going to do it this way have the decency to ask people to guess your favourite.

I thought it was his opinion, at least that was the impression I got.

I assume you're not familiar with some of the more harmonic power metal what with your thrash metal and all, but I personally recommend Edguy, Sonata Arctica, and Elvenking to just about everyone, even if you're not a fan of metal. They're completely different from thrash - I mean, Elvenking's a folk metal group - but they're extremely talented and have some really good songs.

As a Metal test surely there should be mention of bands such as:
Black Sabbath
Led Zeppelin
Machine Head
Children of Bodom
and many, many, many, many others which don't have to fall under thrash claiming to be general metal?
