Could we get "Clan Standings: One year" changed to "Cla (in General)

Sacredpeanut June 26 2007 6:39 AM EDT

Just because :)

"Fame! I wanna live forever..."

bartjan June 26 2007 6:42 AM EDT

You can specify any interval you like...

Sacredpeanut June 26 2007 6:45 AM EDT

Actually everything in the one year column on user/clan changed to lifetime would be handy.

QBRanger June 26 2007 8:45 AM EDT

How can we specify any interval we like?

We can request it, of course, but how can we get it to show our request?

Perhaps the admins have these abilities, but us common people do not.

Shadowsparkle [Jago] June 26 2007 8:54 AM EDT

Just change carnageblender.com/clans/stats.tcl?interval=1+year to carnageblender.com/clans/stats.tcl?interval=2+year to view standings for the last two years and so on...

Lumpy Koala June 26 2007 9:03 AM EDT

wow never knew there's such a thing, thanks shadow :)

QBJohnnywas June 26 2007 9:05 AM EDT

Now, if only you could view your standings even though your clan has been disbanded....

Kong Ming June 26 2007 9:11 AM EDT

If it has been disbanded, its probably not much to look at in the first place ;p

QBJohnnywas June 26 2007 9:12 AM EDT

Clan Beer Garden recently got disbanded, we had been around for a good year and a half, and Zoglog was consistently one of the top CP earners. No record of that now! Gone into the mists of time....... ;)

Kong Ming June 26 2007 9:13 AM EDT

Why was it disbanded?

QBJohnnywas June 26 2007 9:14 AM EDT

One week of a combination of too much farming on one char and two members off on holiday at the same time....

Kong Ming June 26 2007 9:15 AM EDT

What a shame! Must have been too much beer ;)

QBJohnnywas June 26 2007 9:16 AM EDT

Meanwhile there are clans out set up by players who have been inactive for months, years even that still exist, simply because they gather no negative CPs.

QBJohnnywas June 26 2007 9:16 AM EDT

Never too much beer KM.... ;)

Zoglog[T] [big bucks] June 26 2007 9:52 AM EDT

Yes, I was very disappointed with seeing my yearly CP's obliterated even though I was in another clan within a matter of days.
To go from being within the top 20 to 0 points is quite hard to take.

AdminNightStrike June 26 2007 1:21 PM EDT

When does the system check your clan points and delete you for being negative? Is this a Sunday morning check?

Timberwolf June 26 2007 6:13 PM EDT

It's either when the hourly checks are done for bonus, or the daily cache flush.
If your clan is at -1000, it's an auto disband.

QBRanger June 26 2007 7:39 PM EDT

Weren't all clan standings wiped clean less than a year ago?

QBRanger June 26 2007 7:41 PM EDT

Yes, they were:

I don't think there should be a lifetime counter but I definitely think that the MVP's should stay for that period of time even if you leave a clan.
For a start it helps the clan owners see how worthwhile a candidate you are, I was lucky enough that I know the guys in Trigger Happy pretty well and that they are probably pretty sure I'm a very reliable clanner but this information will certainly be more helpful for those 'fringe players'.

QBsutekh137 June 26 2007 8:36 PM EDT

The "leaving a clan" part is a database issue. I believe the way it was defined at the back-end makes a clan player integrally linked to a clan. When the clan goes, that "work" goes. Jonathan doesn't like orphan records.

Hey, you all know where I stand on clans. I think they're dumb. If you DON'T think they're dumb, then you should , in my opinion, only base clan "work" on the clan you are attached to. Clans are about integrity, loyalty, and longevity. Disbanding is a heartbreaker, yes. You might want to try to get the disband rules changed. But for anyone else, if you didn't do the "work" for one clan, one group, one ideal -- why get credit for it? If you want to simply see statistic related to clickey-poo, check the "Battles Fought" stats.

Anything else, and it sounds like "cake and eat it too territory"...folks want recognition for simply having a "C" in their name and clicking like crazy while flitting from clan to clan with the loyalty of a fickle mayfly. Boo fracking hoo.

I would be ALL on board with changing disband rules, because if a dedicated clanner (dedicated to a CLAN, not just to having a "C" by his/her name) is getting knocked off lists because a record in a parent database table got nicked under extenuating circumstance for a veteran clan -- well, that's not cool.
